Win: eyewant that eyetv HD!
WIN! eyewant that eyetv HD!

Apple lead the capitalization revolution with that whole letter-at-the-front thing with that whole lowercase "i" stuff, but not everyone fell for its shenanigans. Just look at the eyetv, which not only spells out "eye" but keeps the lowercase all through the word. So why is this interesting to you? Because you like to win stuff!
In this month's Win! we’re honoring spelling things out by giving away an eyeTV HD Video Recorder. This shiny silver box looks perfect alongside any Mac, and it’ll let you watch, record, and edit all of your favorite HD shows. How do you win this multimedia awesome box? Simple, just enter a comment telling us about which words have always been notoriously difficult for you to spell.
Only one entry per person!

Aluminum. No idea why, but my mind just won't wrap around it even though I work in a metal shop and deal with it daily.

"You're, Your, You are" arrrrgg. I tend to always misspell "You're" i.e. " I am glad your feeling better today!" When of course it is " I am glad you're feeling better today!" not sure why I have this bad habit. I guess this would qualify as grammatically incorrect, but it's actually mis-spelled too, right?

phenomenon (phenomenomenon) and curriculum (circlium)
My spelling and pronunciation is in the parenthesis. If I can't even pronounce them properly, what hope do I have to spell them?

The word the FUSTRATES my wife most is my use and spelling of the word "frustrate". I dont know where I got it wrong along the way but I have always dropped that first R. even when I am talking it goes by the way side.

ACcidentally typing the first AND second letter of a word in caps. GUess I hold down shift to long. An eyetv will make me immediately let go of the shift and play with it though!

gazebo and gautier are two words that always look wrong even, or perhaps especially, when spelled right. And they are pronounced unphonetically (make that three words)...

When I was a kid, I always wanted to spell because "beacause" because of how Aunt Bea spelled her name on the Andy Griffith Show.
Oh, and as far as that long word some people have been mentioning, I spell it "supercalifragilisticalidocious". I leave out the "xp".

Although the "ie" and "ei" words tend to give me some difficulty, I have another one that may seem simple enough, but forget to make a mental note of it and it is the word "zerox", when it should be "xerox".

Spelling is always hard for the lexdysic...I mean dyslexic. I seem to be more of a visual learner. I think I may have a touch of dyslexia! Thank god for auto correct and computers. Typing on an old fashion typewriter was a nightmare for me.

I have always had difficulty with "episode" - I used to put a "t" in it -"epis_t_ode" and pronounce it "epistoad". That is what it sounded like to me...
This is funny because I otherwise have excellent spelling skills and made it to the state finals in the spelling bee competition as a kid and got to 14th place. I was stopped before being given my word and commanded to do the sponsors commercial - during which I for got "Pepsi" and was soundly rebuked for my oversight. When given my word I couldn't have said my own name. Oops, too bad! I was so rattled that I don't remember the word I missed.
And no, I don't drink "Pepsi".

Although its not very common to use this word I had to on a test once because I'm majoring in Psychology and there was an extra credit question which was to name the your favorite phobia. Mine is Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia which is the fear of long words. It's my favorite because of the irony.:)

I've always had some odd problems with spelling. I remember as a child embarrassingly asking the teacher how to spell "of." (I knew it wasn't "ov.") It's curious that I wound up going into writing and editing. Nowadays, it's not so much that I don't know how to spell a particular word, it's that my fingers keep spelling quite different words. When I mean to type "second," often I find that I wrote "section." Spellcheck doesn't help with finding those mistakes.

I have this funny sort of dyslecsic confusion where I substitute g for b, and there are other combinations, but that crops up most often, so I spell: out pops bargabe, but I can see its wrong so correct to garbage.

I'm a bit of a dyslexic when it comes to writing. I always switch the letters around like with weird i spell wierd first and then have to correct myself. I've noticed lately I've been spelling jewelry wrong. I spell it jewlery first.
other words that like to mess with my head:
break: brake
ourselves: ourselfs
miscellaneous: misc (i don't even bother trying)
