I'm having trouble typing the word "sealants" lately, which is only a problem when one is trying to convince people to seal their buildings.

Surprisingly, "polyisocyanurate" is not one of my trouble words.

I'm an old man, and I still have big trouble with then (used for time), and than (used for comparison). You would think after 68 years I would get it, but no, I still mess it up. But an eyetv I would get right away.

Like every youngster, February was my biggest problem. it was always febuary or feburary. But thanks to spell check (on a Mac of course) and predictive text (on an iPhone), I never have to spell that dreaded word on my own.

johnnysfun

Restaurant. Love to eat at them but never could spell it.

avatar

lopezzi

avatar

SquaTront

I’m embarrassed to admit this but the word "the" is misspelled way too often by me. Just typing a bit too fast and transposing two characters. Thank goodness for SpellCatcher automatically swapping out the correct spelling for when I type "teh".

I've always been a good speller, but I have to stop and think about the "i before e" rule on some words.

avatar

there was a spell where i had a difficult time with girlfriends. they would cast their spell on me and i found myself in some kind of spellbound fog, incapable of thought beyond their needs and wants. then i got older and that broke the spell.

one girlfriend thought she was a real witch and she would cast what she called a "constructive spell" where fertility rights were practiced. this made me very nervous.

i found a warlock who gave me a spell to ward off evil:

evil evil thee be gone
ex-spell-ed before the coming dawn
day to night and night to day
i spell evil "gone away"

and soon the witch's spell was gone and so was she.

to this day i can't spell "commitment" without breaking out in a cold sweat.
now i make sure they spell out their objectives before i'm in too deep.

As I have a rather questioning niece...

supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus

I have to spell it for her every time we watch that movie...

Come to think about it, if I win, I'll give her the box so she can watch it and drive her mom nutty...

avatar

jaygreece

I always always confuse "Sarah" with "Sahara", "Shara" "Sarha"...and always write it at least twice or three times until I get it right.

avatar

LairBear

'Chief' and 'Chef;' I always end up having to edit one or the other

avatar

MacRob

My biggest problem is spelling together, for some reason I always want to stick an "A" in the middle. (togeather) If it wasn't for my mac putting the red dotted line below it, I would look really stupid.

avatar

donateko

In Spanish it is spelled "Cocodrilo" so for the longest time I spelled it "Cocodrile" without realizing it was actually "Crocodile" :)

avatar

ajcamm

eye want one! So I can kick cable!

The word I misspell the most? I think I type too fast sometimes, because instead of 'future,' it end up being 'furute.'

avatar

rayansud

I want it... NOW!

onomatopoeia!

avatar

murlyn

Ok for me.. it's usually "serve" not because I can't spell it, but because when Im typing really fast, I always put an 'r' at the end of it "server". For words that I have a difficult time actually spelling, that would be Whorchestshire ok.. I spelled it wrong apparently, there is a red line under it.. ugh.. hmm. Worcestershire there we go.. had to google it again :)

avatar

MacAddict4Life

I always want to put two t's in writing. Writting.

avatar

frocool

I mess up words that have single and double "L"s. Like finally or finaly, final or finall, etc.

avatar

tomjhansen

I can never spell February right.....that extra silent R

avatar

cmgarza24

when i was younger I always misspelled "friend"
then i learned if you "fri" your friend, thats the "end" of your friend. (Fri+end=friend).

lately i misspell many words on "purpose" it gives my students an opportunity to ern bonis points. ;)

avatar

shorrell

I've always had trouble spelling "preposterous". Even now I had to use a dictionary to look it up.

avatar

bossjayroc

The word that I seem to always have a problem spelling is restaurant. I normally fat finger it in and spell it restraunt... Just looking at that it looks incorrect. I mean they both look wrong...

avatar

I live in Canada, so this is for fun. The word I heard from Marina Orlova is"Floccinaucinihilipilification". I can't for the life of me pronounce it! I challenge the Maclife team to try and say that!

Now there's a challenge!

avatar

Well, my word has been... mindbogglingly.

I've always had trouble with the word definitely.

And there is DEFINITELY nothing wrong with that, ok? OK?!?! ;)

Dessert/Desert!

My grade one teacher did sort it out like this though:

You always want 2 servings at in and out burger, so two ss's. :)
