Win: McTiVia
Contrary to popular belief, the McTiVia is not a TiVia made by McDonalds. What it is, is a wireless streamer for streaming everything from your Mac to your TV. And it's got quite a few tricks up its sleeve. The McTiVia can wirelessly bring your Mac screen to your TV (with synchronized audio), remotely operate your Mac from TV with standard USB mouse/keyboard combo, or even be used as a wireless access point.

Your Mac and TV, now in unholy matrimony.
We liked it enough to give it a 3.5 in our review.
To enter, just leave a comment explaining what you would use this crazy TV to Mac hook up for.
The fine print:

I would have a lot of fun with McTiVia. It looks like an awesome product. But to be perfectly honest, the person who commented that they are recovering from cancer would probably get more use out of it then I would.

I would love to have this! I am recovering from cancer and in bed a lot. I can’t afford cable anymore. I have been trying to figure out the best way to stream programs and games to a TV in the bedroom. This seems like the answer. Here is hoping I win the McTivia!!

I recently purchased a mini dvi to hdmi so I could stream my Amazon content and share photos and home videos with visitors without having to have everyone looking over my shoulder to view my Mac screen! This would allow me much more flexibility and spontaneity.

And by putting the videos on loop! That'll show them!! Then i would put the videos on facebook and youtube..... ;)

Our household has gone entirely cable-free, so I would love to experiment with this equipment to see what other great content we can stream, such as Hulu. Thanks, to Mac|Life for such a great magazine and website!

I would use this to stream all of the movies sitting on my Mac out to the TV in the living room. And I could finally patch up the hole in the wall that I'm currently using to run the HDMI cable from my Mac to the living room TV! lol

So I develop a bunch of lectures for med students and other college students and young adults on issues of importance to them--mostly self-introspection and other developmental issues. I have used my mac to do some of these lectures with various people using SKYPE. But I'd love to put them on a big screen in my home and McTivia would allow me to do that. I also would love to watch CBS shows which I can only stream on my laptop in my "there's no way I'm spending a ridiculous amount of money on cable" household.
Plus, Mac rocks.

I wonder how I could use this in classroom? It would be great if I didn't have to tether my Macbook Pro to my projector.

The possibilities are endless. My kids will think I'm cool!!, for a second. I can convert my "Windows" friends on how cool Mac's are on a big screen. Not to mention the online videos, photos, webpages....Like I said, it is endless!

Oh so many videos of Kenny Powers being excellent! And years of photos taken while on deployment, videos that don't work on iTunes, and blown up topographical maps that I can use to take my dopey lab on hikes around Washington State.

I would use my 65" HD TV to display my MacBook Pro screen. It would also allow me to edit those videos much better in large view. I could also stream my videos and display my phot album on teh screen when the realtives visit over the holidays. Might even convert one or two to a mac user.

i have to give regular lectures for employees but the large screen tv at work:
a. is in a very inconvenient location to try and plug in my macbook and
b. only has a VGA plug (and work is too cheap to buy an adapter!)

Because my clunky HDMI cable is not an indoor jump rope!
I would use it to cut free myself from my restrictive digital umbilical cord! So long living room tripping hazard!! The tethered tyranny of the HDMI cable is OVER!
Hurray for McTiVia!

I'd use it to present various things onto a bigger screen of course, as a router of course, duh, & probably as a "battle ground"/perch fighting arena for my cockatiels (I'd have to chew & poop proof it of course though). :o)
