Yawn, ho hum, another quiet week in the Mac world, as virtually nothing of interest to anyone happened, no big announcements were made, and we spent a week in a deep, deep coma. Wait, what? Something happened? Verizon got the iPhone? (Checking calendar) It's not April Fool's Day? Whew, lucky we've got tons of people on this beat or else this little news exclusive might have slipped right under our radar.

Madness Awaits at the Beta Reader Meetup
Features:
- Five Things You Need to Know About the Verizon iPhone 4 - Verizon COO Lowell McAdam said, as he unveiled the new iPhone, that if the press writes about something long enough and hard enough, eventually it comes true. We all knew Apple had to get on another carrier and fast with the Android platform growing and about a gazillion new Android phones ready to Googlize the smartphone market, we just didn't know when it would finally happen. Well, that day has arrived, and we've got the details.

- The Difference Between 4G and LTE (and What It Means to Verizon’s iPhone) - So, let's say you pick up an iPhone 4 on the Verizon network. Which network, pray tell, will you be on? Well, for the moment, Verizon iPhoners are rocking the CDMA model, getting on Verizon's older 3G network. What happens when the carrier pushes more and more users on to their brand spankin new LTE -- and what's the difference with all this stuff anyway?
How-Tos:
- 10 Fifteen-Minute How-To's for Macs - Sometimes your Mac just needs a kick in the pants to get itself going and to rock your productivity, but life moves fast and sometimes it feels like there isn't enough time to sit down, research, then implement everything you think might work. Well, that's what we get paid to do, so sit down and let us show you how to get it rolling.

- How To Get AirPlay on Your Old Apple TV with Remote HD - Airplay is some serious sweetness, but like so much associated with iOS these days, older models aren't always supported, meaning your rocking hardware ain't so rocking anymore. Luckily, not all Apple fans are willing to take this kind of nonsense lying down, so you want a little video streaming but don't want a new Apple TV box? Well here's your lucky day.
Reviews:
- December's Highest Rated Reviews - You know we bring you a monthly wrap up of the best of the best of the very best, and this was what the holiday season sent down our chimneys for your enjoyment.

- App Showdown: Tilt Shifters - Want to make some serious toy photos and be like the cool kids with their tiltshifting madness? Sure you do, you're just not sure how to do it and don't want to drop that all important dollar or so down on garbage, so let us give you the scoop on the best apps out there.
News:

I'm sure Ralph De La Vega feels like Jan Brady these days, but instead of "Marcia Marcia Marcia" the news is all "Verizon Verizon Verizon." Well, he won't get any relief from us as a super special bunch of Verizon articles took over our site this week...like for example speculation that Verizon might offer unlimited data plans for new iPhone buyers...sure Ralphie boy says "We are ready for it" but that could just be tough talk...and tough talk was flying leading up to the announcement....but what would be the good things about it and what would be the bad thing about that? We took a look before the announcement...and then it happened and there was much rejoicing...and if you put in your pre-order the moment it went live, February 3rd was your lucky day and if not, February 10th if you didn't....and Verizon set up a way to tell you everything you needed to know about the new phone on their site...including that you won't be able to do FaceTime over the CDMA network...and that earlier rumor about data plans? Well, Verizon was a little mum on that specific part of the story...and what they might not have explained fully is that the buttons were slightly differently placed, so don't go running out to buy a case for your Verizon iPhone just this second...and of course, who didn't know that a Verizon-ready iPad was on its way as well? Seriously, that was always in the cards and obvious even before the iPhone 4 announcement...and while they say their wireless network is ready for it, it appears that their regular website wasn't ready for the onslaught of interest in the new handset...and in the web melee, it appears that the Moby Dick of handsets has once more proved elusive...also disappearing? Verizons "New Every Two" perk; as they giveth, apparently so they taketh away...and file this under taketh away as well, as a whopping 26% of AT&T customers say they'll make the switch once Verizon is a go. Whether that's tough talk or the real thing, we'll just have to wait and see....one big name person we're pretty sure is going to make the switch? Jon Stewart as he roasted AT&T's network in this Daily Show segment.
Enough of Verizon? Well, you could relive the event, because we were there for the whole announcement, talking it up as it happened...and we took a huge gallery of photos while we were there too...and if you have any interest in meeting the mad geniuses behind Mac|Life, come hang out for some free drinks and appetizers on us at our first ever Reader Meetup (if enough of you show, we hear Robbie will be making himself available for body shots).
