10.5.3 is Ready to Rumble
The latest update to Leopard is available now. What do you get with the nearly 200 MB update? Airport and network fixes, Time Machine, Time Capsule and Spaces updates, and of course, Apple includes the usual spiel;
"The Mac OS X 10.5.3 Update is recommended for Mac OS X 10.5, 10.5.1, and 10.5.2 Leopard. It includes general operating system improvements that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac."
Remember everyone, updates should always follow a back up of important data.

For My MacBook Pro the file size was 420 MB. This was upgrading from 10.5.2! So far I have had to force quit an App that hasn't given me any problems before to date. I wonder if this will be another bug fest as the app freeze that I experienced a short time ago was something that happened on my other mac running the same app but with 10.4.11!!! Going backwards perhaps!!!! Holding my breath here and walking like on thin ice hoping it will not manifest any other surprises!!!

I realized the other PPC user also mentioned 420 MB. There must be some good stuff for us PPC guys. So HA! to all you intel users out there. Thats what you get for being early adopters.

I downloaded 10.5.3 update and now my Aperture 2 crashes (unexpectedly quits) on startup. I anticipate an update soon. There was also a Raw camera update which could have been the issue. Oh well, wait and see I guess.

Can someone please tell me why my 2.33GHZ C2D MBP was only a 198MB update and my 1.83GHZ C2D MacBook was a 400MB one?

My download via the OS X Leopard software update was only 198 MB for the MacBook Pro (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz with ATI X1600 graphics). Maybe the download differs in size depending on how old the system is and what Mac you're using (ie: iMac, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, etc).

Did you use software update? The stand alone download for both the regular update and the combo update are larger than if you just fire up software update.

MacBook Pro 2.4 dual intel core processor. Download for this machine was 420MB for the 10.5.3 update and a bit more for the Raw update. I used the Software update from the system preferences! Size must be regarding the machine as the size seems to differ with the individual and the machine type.
