I have several photos that were originally saved as .jpg's. Someone was tinkering around with my computer and saved them as thumbnails. When I try to look at them they are very small and I'm unable to enlarge them to the original size. Can someone tell me what I need to do?

I am trying to figure out how to take of group of edited pictures grouped in a slide show on my PowerBook G4 and transfer that entire show to a picture frame I recently gave my wife. The frame has all the camera card slots and USB also. The share command in I photo has nothing highlighted for this. I must not be the only one trying to accomplish this. Just playing the raw unedited photos on the SD card is not desirable. Any suggestions? Please don't get too complicated as I am 74 and slo to learn.

So, can I copy my dvd library on into iTunes? I just want to keep the kids quiet during the 5 hr drive to Grandma & Granpa's house without buying copies of movies I already own...

Thanks!

I am thinking of getting a new 24" imac. My current computer desk is too small.

How can I put my imac, printer, scanner, ext. harddrive, router, cable box, telephone etc. on one desk? I have been looking but most waste space by having a cabinet for a tower and the space allocated for the monitor is not large enough.

Any ideas? (I mean without having to knock out a wall or mortgage my house) I am sure I am not the only one with this dilemna.

I combined 2 iPhoto files into one when I removed a user. The iPhoto does not recognize the photo's from the removed iPhoto file. What do I need to do to combine them?

I'm new to Mac, but having a great time learning! One thing I've not been able to do is access my iphoto library when attaching to email? I can see the last set of images I've loaded, but I can't access the others?

I have a 12" powerbook and recently it began using the letter 'A' in blocks for everthing. My brother took all my info off so we could reinstall without losing anything. Unfortunately, it now shows a black screen asking for username and password, but I can't type in my password. If I hit enter 3 times it says '/System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/login started.' Yet it keeps going back to the same black screen. I'm panicking. Help!!

My macbook, given to me for xmas, will not put cds on the desktop. It is a problem with the MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857D since all the cds and dvds work on a G4 PowerBook. I cannot get any MacAddict CD onto the desktop and when in the Slot, the only way to eject it is with Disk Utility.
Is there a superdrive I can replace it with. I don't want to send the laptop in for repair because I did not buy Apple Care and I have data on it that can't be replaced. MacConnection will repair then re-format the computer so they can re-install the original software. They want me to buy a Hard Drive to store my data while they fix the MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857D.
I put "MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857D" in google and found an that practicaly all MacBook owners have problems with this Superdrive.

Hardware Overview:

Machine Name: Mac
Machine Model: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B00
SMC Version: 1.13f3
Serial Number: (I deleted b/o security)
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled

Thanx

this is a terrible dvd/cd drive. I have had problems with it on both my old powerbook G4 and my macbook pro. Apple are selling out and using crap components.

My Matshita won't see blank DVDs and just spits them out. I considered having Apple replace it, but would rather not have the monkeys prying open my imac. I'm going to settle for an external firewire. My previous imac also had major combo drive problems. Word to the wise? When buying your next mac, be sure to get it with anything but their proprietary optical drive!! Spend the extra money, you won't regret it!

I have experienced the same problem. Not only won't it mount a cd, it won't burn one either from legitimate tracks. I have applecare and hope I can get my drive replaced because I just plugged in an external drive and it mounts cd's fine. ARGHGHGHGHGHGH!!! This is amazingly lame. How could Apple let this happen?

I experienced the same problem. My Cd and DVD’s would mount either on my MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857D. I found that Apple released a firmware upgrade for this particular drive on June 9, 2007, which in turn caused the problem. I took it to Apple and they replaced the drive. I had the applecare so I had no problem anyways. But, for the people who don’t have applecare, you shouldn’t have to pay for anything. This is clearly Apple fault.

Apple removed that update from there software update downloads within a days - weeks. They should own-up to their problem and post a notice for a free of charge replacement.

Hello, we've been Mac Addict and now Mac Life subscribers forever. I came here today, signed up, logged in and well that is about all. I can find no instructions on how to create a forum, or how to even ask a question. It could be me, but I'm sorry I see nothing obvious. The question: Many months ago MacAddict ran an how to article concerning DVD video (the vts folders) and how to convert them for editing in Final Cut (or other editing program). I can't find my copy an would like to know if the article is posted, or a forum is called for, or if it is a simple question I can ask you. That's it. That's my comment (it was the only way I found to ask the question).
Other than that, fine job, I will continue to subscribe.

You need to create a DIGG account. Then click on the DIGG button at the top of the column and it takes you right to a page that you fill out the question and answer a few questions. Hope that helps

I have a 12" powerbook that I hook into a 20" apple studio display to do graphics work. I usually just keep the book shut and only use my 20" display, but I'd love to be able to use the laptop screen positioined to the right of the 20" as a second monitor. Can this be done? I know I can use the 20" as the second monitor, but my dock etc. stays on the laptop.
