Five days into our 2012 DonorsChoose Challenge, we've gotten $324 donated by 16 people, which will reach 1,300 students. I've heard from at least a dozen teachers with worthwhile projects that have been added to our Giving Page, so be sure to scroll through that list to find a project that tugs at your heart strings.
This Alabama teacher needs more keyboards to expand her wildly popular Music Technology class to more kids.
This classroom in California is less than $400 away from completing their iEducate for Equality project and getting civil rights curriculum books and an iPad.
This class in Pennsylvania is less than $200 away from new dictionaries, a crucial reference I certainly took for granted when I was in school.
And this teacher in Texas is incredibly close to having her Learning Math through Art project fully funded, so her kindergarteners can get hands-on with mathematical concepts while creating works of art at the same time.
Oh, one more -- since I can never put together a Giving Page without at least one LEGO project, this class in South Carolina hopes we'll help them buy a LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 kit, so they can make robots. Robots!!!
BEST OF ALL, when you donate to any of the projects on our Giving Page, enter the code MACLIFE at checkout, and your donation will be MATCHED. As in, doubled. All donations up to $100 will be matched, and all you have to do is enter that code, and click Apply. Like so:

Don't forget to enter the match code. Don't forget to enter the match code. Don't forget to enter the match code.
And I have prizes!!!
To be considered for a prize, simply donate to one of the projects on our Giving Page, then forward me (susie@maclife.com) the email receipt you get from DonorsChoose, and i'll reply with a hearty thank-you and a confirmation that you're entered in the contest. The deadline for entries is 11:59pm Pacific time on April 30, 2012 -- you've got 10 more days!
I've got another bonus prize to announce too.
The first bonus prize is still in effect: Anyone who donates to this Photography Club project will receive a discount code for 50% off the price of FX Photo Studio Pro for Mac, from our friends at MacPhun. (And congratulations to Paul K, Gerard D, and Derrick R, who also won a free copy of MacPhun's amazing Snapheal software.)
And now the second bonus prize: Anyone who donates to this Lego Robotics for Lego Club project will get a free copy of Conjure, a slick virtual desktop for your Mac, from ConjureBunny Software. Just forward me your receipt (susie@maclife.com) showing that you donated to that project, and you automatically win!
Plus, if you're entered for a bonus prize, your name STILL goes in the hat for the big prize drawing at the end of the month. I'll be giving away games from Aspyr, the Fling Mini accessory for iPhone/iPod touch from Ten One Design, a Griffin Helo TC remote control helicopter, a Withings Smart Blood Pressure Monitor, some Spark headphones by Id America, and a ton of other cool stuff!

The Fling Mini from Ten One Design can help you get a better handle on your iPhone/iPod touch games. And you can win one by donating!
