GE’s official statement on their website is that they’re dedicated to turning imaginative ideas into leading products, which is why they’ve brought us this fun site. It’s a digital hologram created to promote Smart Grid technology and it interacts with the many different peripherals connected to your computer.

The website, which utilizes augmented reality, makes it possible so that the 3D graphics can be integrated with live footage in real time. The site also allows you to use your computer’s mic and webcam to interact with the windmill animation, as well as display an amazing 3D display in your webcam window. Simply print out the Solar Panel Marker before you push play. And, when you launch the wind turbine demo, make sure to blow hard into your microphone!

I've had alot of fun doing these and found a few others. A Japanese guru of this "FLARToolKit" has great fireworks hologram (Saqoosha.net). You can find these by linking through the GE Ecomagination site via the SourceCode.

I want to know how to do this! I'm using ScreenRecorder 2 to make the movies of the ones I run. A fantastic technology with a bunch of promising applications.
