I'll admit to owning a Palm Treo before the iPhone came out. I'll also admit to wondering how long it'll take to get the WebOS on my old Treo so I can play around with the OS. I'm intrigued by the new OS and while I find the hardware design of the Palm Pre sexy and infuriating at the same time, I'm happy to welcome Palm back to the smartphone market.
That being said, it's not going to replace my iPhone.
So while Palm is enjoying a much-earned resurgence in the smartphone market, they should really find the person that created the Palm Pre ads and throw them down a well. If possible, the well from The Ring. I'm quite sure this person would enjoy the terror of a J-Horror child walking menacingly toward them. Why do I say that? Check out the Flow commercial from Palm below.
This is the scariest thing on TV right now. I'm not kidding. Turning your back to an audience causes the audience to become agitated and fearful of what will happen once the character turns to face them. Having an actress that may have given two pints of blood before the shoot doesn't help. It's freaky.
The script isn't soothing either. Bing, bing, bing, has officially replaced the Freddy Kruger nursery rhyme in my nightmares. If you're goal was to frighten people, mission accomplished. I can't even look at a Pre now without ending up in the fetal position under my desk mumbling about green lights and flow.
Maybe I'm the only person that leaps for the TiVo remote when these commercials appear. What is your take on the new Palm commercials? Has Palm created a new horror genre known as the Pre-Horror?
I agree. Why give the creepy feel to the start of the ad? The phone alone in the ad would probably do better justice for a great breakthrough from Palm. 'Pre' deserves a much better hype than that. Cheap Unlocked Cell Phones
we have to consider some important points
like it should comfortable , it should go with office
interior and one of the important point is that
its cost should not overload our budget tremendously.

Interesting!
Actually, I thought THIS ad was better than the the "bing, bing bing" ad because at least you, the person who has never heard of the Pre before, are getting closer to seeing that the Pre is actually a phone.
Palm should have terminated the ads and started over.
The fact that they had the brains to fire the SVP of marketing is great, but go all the way and trash the ads too.
Palm needs a consistent message that's good. They also need to control the message (scrap the shitty Sprint commercials too)

The only thing that the Pre has that the iPhone doesn't have, from a software perspective, is the ability to run multiple apps at once. As far as I can tell every single one of their commercials is pushing this fact, and this fact alone. The problem with this is two-fold. 1) The iPhone can do A LOT of things that the Pre can not do (65,000 apps anyone? Yeah, there's an app for that).2) The vast majority of users have NO IDEA that the commercials are demonstrating some feature that they want and/or need. IOW, when you have to change CONTROL from one app to the next because you are operating on a device with a tiny screen then the difference between an app already running and one that you have to tap to relaunch is semantics to the average user. These aren't computers with large screens where we can actually have the apps running side by side. I'm not saying that the Pre isn't a nice device. It is. But Palm needs to realize that and start advertising why it is a nice device, and running multiple apps isn't it.
This was hilarious, I also think that they are creepy ads. They don't really showcase the product all that much. Only when she's sounding like Freddy Kruger and going bing, bing, bing do you really see it. And if that's all that people are going to see then that's stupid only to show them that you can swipe your finger to go to new things and apps!!! I'd fire them just seeing the demo ad!
