CaseLogic 14-inch Laptop Backpack
I think I went through about 7 different backpacks and messenger bags my freshman year of college until I eventually relented to never bringing my laptop to class and simply carrying around a tote bag with a notebook and my cellphone. Frankly, I wish I owned a backpack back then that was comfortable enough to wear all day and fit what it needed to, like this 14-inch laptop backpack from Case Logic.

The backpack includes an integrated laptop compartment that fits a 13- or 15-inch MacBook and it even comes with a nifty see-through sleeve for your iPad, so you can take your tablet with you to class, and then your MacBook with you to the library.

The backpack also features side zippered pockets that let you store your iPhone, a set of keys or one of those fabulous Kind bars I've really taken a liking to lately. The front pocket of the bag fits the entirety of the MagSafe with its extension cord for your MacBook and it doesn't bulge out because of the bags deep pocket designs. There's also a felt-padded pocket at the top of the bag for a pair of glasses.

Inevitably, the more stuff you cram into this bag, the heavier it will get. But because of the design of the bag's shape -- vertically long with deep pockets -- the weight of your stuff distributes more evenly and the bag will settle easily on your back. You'll undoubtedly want to put the bag down in between long strides, but at least you don't have to worry about it not fitting all of your stuff. ($49.99 | 3.5/5)

Incase Nylon Backpack
Good bags have a lot of pockets, and great bags place those pockets inside, away from sneaky fingers. Incase's Nylon backpack contains a multitude of gadget pockets on the inside to keep your cords organized and hidden away. The Nylon Backpack's main compartment also features two separate built-in laptop and iPad sleeves, which also rest on a bed of faux-fur lining that provide comfort and cushioning for your gadgets.

If you need quick access to a few things, you can stick a notebook and pens in the outside front pocket…

…and your iPhone at the top. This inside pocket is also lined with faux-fur and the zipper pull is easily concealable, so no one will know you're hiding a pocket there.

The bag also features padded back panels that rest comfortably on your back and make it the right bag for the laptop lugging commuter. And if red isn't your style, Incase offers the Nylon backpack in a rainbow of colors. ($99.95 | 4/5)

Mission Workshop's The Vandal
This bag is big -- really big -- and it's designed for bike commuters who need a comfortable way to carry their laptop on their backs while they navigate through traffic. The bag doubles in size from one foot to almost 2.5 feet once extended, meaning you can fit a laptop, gym clothes, an extra pair of shoes, your bike lock and much more. Whether or not you can balance yourself on a bike while hauling all of that is another thing entirely.

If you're a city dweller and find that the rain often gets you down, you can rest (or bike?) assured that this backpack is weatherproof. The main compartment can either be rolled up or folded over to accommodate your MacBook, and there's also another compartment in the front for your cords and things that also clasps the same.

The whole bag is made out of heavy duty plastic and reinforced with a carbon fiber frame, but nlike other bike messenger backpacks we've reviewed -- mostly notably the Timbuk2 Hemlock Backpack -- the Vandal doesn't have much padding for your laptop, so you'll need to outfit your MacBook in a sleeve for extra protection.

While it's a fantastic backpack for hauling stuff on a bike and keeping it dry, it could really use a little more padding for your precious cargo. ($259.00 | 3/5)

Domke F-833 Large Photo Courier Bag
Here's a product geared specifically for photographers who are a little gadget crazed, too. The Domke Large Photo Courier bag carries your DSLR, an extra lens, and up to a 13-inch MacBook or iPad, all in a stylish leather package. Domke is usually known for its rugged, protective camera bags, and protect they do -- there's nothing but padding on the inside to keep your camera body and lens safe.

Once you stuff all those gadgets inside, however, your shoulder might be asking you why you're torturing it. The bag definitely gets heavy with a laptop in there, but at least it's sturdy and there's no fear of your stuff falling out.
