iFrogz Summit
Here is iFrogz's new spin on the typical iPad 2 folio case. It's got the hard shell backing to protect your tablet's chassis, while also providing the professional looking leather front. However, the best part is that the flap actually has the Smart Technology chip in it that switches your iPad 2 off and on -- a win-win for those of you who don't like the minimalist feel of Apple's own Smart Cover.

Otterbox Defender
This case is the toughest of the tough for keeping your iPad 2 in absolutely pristine condition, no matter the environment. Otterbox's most rugged case uses multilayer technology and is designed to withstand pretty much anything. Especially grubby fingers going after the seven holiday iterations of Cut the Rope available on your tablet device.

The Defender also has an inner polycarbonate shell with a foam interior to help with impact, and the clip-on screen cover as a fold-out stand for movie watching. However, bear in mind this case is not compatible with the iPad 2 dock. (4.5/5, $89.95)

Gumdrop Drop Series
Speaking of hardcore cases, Gumdrop's Drop Series iPad 2 case also includes multilayer protection for tough-living iPad 2 users.

The case feels and looks like a tire on the back. Fortunately, it bounces back when you drop it on the floor. (4/5, $59.95)

Timbuk2 Kickstand Case
We like it when iPad cases feature furry insides, and fortunately Timbuk2 was generous with the fur on this particular case. While the outside of this folio-style case features Timbuk2's signature three-panel look, the inside is lined with black faux fur to protect your iPad's screen and chassis.

Also nifty about this case: it folds up into two viewing modes so that you can type or watch a flick. However, a few caveats: the sleep/wake button is not easily accessible when in the case and since this is a hybrid case for both versions of the iPad, the iPad 2 tends to move around while it's inside the brackets. Also, unless you're a bonafide bike messenger (as Timbuk2's M.O.) then you're not really in need of this case's extreme bulk. (3/5, $49.00)
