The holidays are here and you know what that means: going crazy trying to remember everyone on your Christmas card list. While Apple has made it easy for iOS users to turn their personal photos into holiday cards with the Cards app, it's still got a slim collection of templates that needs a little more polishing. Here are three free apps that basically offer the same services as the Cards app, though bear in mind that these apps do eventually charge you to send off physical greeting cards to your loved ones.

Choose from over 30 photos cards and illustrated designs. You can choose from religious, non-religious, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years themes, and then personalize it with your own personal message. And if the photo you chose just isn't up to par, spruce it up with a photo filter. The app charges $1.69 for each 5x7-inch card and can be sent to a whole address book of people in just a few minutes!

SnapShot offers the same kind of customization for physical greeting cards made on your iPad as the previous app, though each card costs as low as .80 cents apiece. Additionally, the service lets you send your first greeting card for free, so you can test-send one to yourself to see what the cards will look like.

Not sure why there's that stray apostrophe at the end, but if you'd rather go the way of the email, this app lets you send our your photos as an e-card. You can choose from a curated variety of free stock photos, link up to a Flickr account and use those images, or extract from your own personal photo collection.
