Trivia contests are one of those things for which most people feel like they have expertise in at least a single category. It is soul-crushing to realize that as much as you think you know something, there's someone at the pub quiz who likely spent at least two semesters on the topic, and they will crush you beneath their boots. Embracing humility, nothing will more rapidly prepare you to accept your mortal insignificance before the cosmos than your first encounter with 94 Seconds by Scimob.
The premise of 94 Seconds is simple, you have exactly that much time to input as many answers in a particular category that starts with the assigned letter. Where that simplicity ends is coming up with an answer in said time crunch. You'd be surprised at how quickly the sense of self deflates when struggling to remember that Jakarta is a nation's capital that starts with the letter J. There are a number of factors such as "Jokers" that provide an answer for you per round if you're stumped, but they eventually run out and the app prompts you to buy the premium version to continue using your crutch. The choice is yours if you wish to keep these bonus factors, but I've sallied forth without any assistance, and I feel the app is better for it.
Does 94 Seconds hold up over repeat play? Not necessarily. Eventually, the repetitive nature of the game will lead you to have several answers in mind automatically the next time a questino comes around. So, unless there's a desire to improve your score, the challenge of the game will end. However, for that brief moment, the fury you'll have at yourself for answering poorly will burn with the intensity of 1,000 suns. That's the kind of dedication to an app we usually hope for each Friday.
