On November 2nd, Disney releases Wreck-it Ralph, a film with a star studded-voice cast and a unique setting taking place across multiple video game worlds. It's also destined to make you feel old. Gaming's hit a bit of a watershed moment, we can now look back on its history of multiple decades and view it in the same kind of nostalgia glasses that were once reserved to TVLand reruns of I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver.
The movie tie-in is Fix-it Felix Jr., a portable version of the previously fictional game that Wreck-it Ralph himself, well, wrecks things in. The game itself plays like a classic vertical arcade title, and your goal is to fix all of the windows Ralph breaks before time runs out. The gameplay's fast, and the desire to improve your score is high. While not much new is brought to the table, you almost forget that this game didn't actually exist, and your quarters were never stolen.
