It's been a while since a game so extreme has been highlighted by Free App Friday, but today we bring you the high octane action that is Kumo Lumo. No, seriously, this cloud packs a wallop.
Kumo Lumo is a charming freemium title developed by Cut-the-Rope titans Chillingo. The premise: in true Bob Ross fashion, you are a happy little cloud on a quirky rotating planet that's content with you growing space forests by pouring helpful rain. Aliens have landed, and they're jerks with rayguns and not-so-happy little clouds. So you bring the thunder and fry the invaders before they burn all of the forests down. Basically, you're like a fluffy Thor.
The challenge increases, and before long, the game begins to resemble more of a shooter. However, the controls are very intuitive, and the hours begin to slip away. You find bits of gold along the way to upgrade and make your cloud kind of like a flying Bruce Willis out of Die Hard. Sure, paying for gold can impact the game in a noticeable way-- but you can, as I have, play deep into Kumo Lumo without spending a cent.
