As you've probably already noticed, sometimes I like to use my space in Free App Friday to feature a few apps that have really tickled my fancy. There's nothing better than discovering an app that really does something wonderful to either simplify your life or give you a little smile. This week, I'd like to introduce to you three free web services that have helped me increased my productivity and enjoy the internet just a little bit more. Because in the mess of trolls, immature Redditors and salacious headlines, we all need a little refuge from the harshness of the 'net.

Automate your internet actions with ifttt. The web service puts the internet "to work for you" by enabling you to create tasks that fit the simple structure of "if this, then that." You can set up Tasks from a host of different services, such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, to post to one another after a certain action is performed. For instance, you could set up an action that would have Facebook immediately download any photo you're tagged in to your Dropbox. There's also a "Recipes" tab that lets you use Filters that other users have created.

Need to quickly share a file without the hassles of signing up with a service like Dropbox? Simply drag and drop a file into Minus and get a instant sharing link. You can sign up for a free account to store your files and keep the links active. Or, you can use the site as a guest and the link will eventually expire a month after you've uploaded your file.

Just because Safari isn't your browser of choice doesn't mean that you have to be left out of the reading game. The Readability bookmarklet lets you transform any single webpage into a distraction-free page that's easy to read. You can also sign up for a membership to help support writers and publishers, which would be nice because then you'd be supporting people like me who bring you these find app columns every Friday.
