Thanksgiving has come and gone, and once your tryptophan high is on hold you're going to have to find a normal way to sleep. The creators of the fantastic SleepPhones (http://www.sleepphones.com/) have a companion app out there designed to help you drift off with the soothing sounds of the sea, white noise and piano music to lull you into a slumber. Beware the drool.

There are plenty of options to pick from. Personally, I like "A Minor Thing."
Binaural beats and their effects on the brain date back to the 19th century, but over the past couple of decades many have claimed that binaural beats can improve sleep, creativity, increase your batting average to at least .285 and replace your aluminum siding. Regardless of whether it's all junk science or not, it's can prove to be relaxing stuff.

Just as a side note, the SleepPhones themselves are actually quite comfortable and worth checking out if you're in search for that perfect gift in the $40 range. I've personally been using them and as a resident of an especially noisy part of Brooklyn, they are an essential for a good night in this madness. Coupled with the app or other ambient pieces of music, this has been the easiest, cheapest and most comfortable sleep solution I've yet to find.
