I know, this week has been rough. Netflix increased the prices on your precious DVD rental and streaming plans and you're just not sure how you're gonna be able to pony up the cash for such an expenditure. But that doesn't mean your Mac and iOS devices have to suffer. They're still good for streaming media and enjoying a flick here and there, so put 'em to good use with these free apps. And don't fret your little heart about Netflix, child. It's all going to be alright.

Don't want to deal with Netflix's price hikes? Just wanna be all like down with the man? That's alright, we won't judge you. We'll just point you to this free way to watch movies on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Stream high quality video of Sony's media library straight to your iOS device with this free app.
You probably already know about this application, but here it is anyway! Air Video hooks up to the main computer in your hizz-ouse to stream AVIs and other movie files straight to your iPad, without the hassle of a third-party apparatus.

So you decided to stick with Netflx's DVD subscription plans, eh? Good for you! But you'll need to manage that DVD queue if you're going to get your money's worth now. There's a really nifty Adobe AIR application that you can fire up to add movies to your queue, without having to endure Netflix's new "slide thatta way" web interface.
