What do you do on your iPad these days? Do you play games? Keep track of your finances? Surf the web? And does anyone actually use that euphemism anymore? It feels like it's getting pretty dated…
And you know what else is dated? Watching television on your TV. Yes, folks, the cool way to keep track of your favorite shows is to prop up the iPad on your knees while you're in bed and doze off to the sweet sounds of Meredith Grey's constant whining on Grey's Anatomy. And while you might know about ABC, NBC, HBO and TBS's official apps for the iPad, here are a few other free apps that exist just for your entertainment.

Need a random selection of free movies and television shows to sift through? Crackle's got them. How it works is not a question that we ask. All we do is nod our heads and appreciate the free nature of this iPad app. But just as an aside, there's ads! Because without ads, you wouldn't have things for free.

My favorite roll at sushi restaurants is a crunchy spicy tuna roll. My favorite app for watching nonsensical Japanese anime is Crunchyroll. If you put the two together, you've got a pretty perfect night with a stomach full of sushi and a brain full of anime.

I've recently started watching a ton of television shows on DVD and network cable, and I'm having a difficult time tracking which episodes I've watched and what I've yet to see. SideReel lets me keep track of seasons, episodes, and other series with the same name. This free app also provides links to the iTunes and Amazon rental pages for each episode, and gives you a breakdown of what's on TV for the week.
