This week in Game Time we take a look at two App Store super-sellers and decide if they can live up to the hype. Besides their sales these games have next to nothing in common -- except how addicting they are!
Hanging with Friends
$1.99
Zynga
Shakespeare once wrote "What's in a name?" Well, if you work at Zynga the answer is "With Friends." Hanging with Friends is a word-based game made by the same people who made Words with Friends. Though it shares 66 percent of its name, "Hanging" is quite a different experience than "Words." The good news is they're both tons of fun.

Hanging is more fast-paced than it's Scrabble-esque counterpart, and has two main gameplay elements. First, you try to build a word with a variety of random letters, then the opponent builds a word and you try to guess what they wrote. It's a little like Scrabble and a little like hangman, but the two elements work well with one another.

Luckily, if you, like me, don't have any friends, matching up with random opponents is as easy as pie. Obviously "Hanging with Strangers" wouldn't sell the same.

We love pixelated graphics and we also love free games, which is probably why Tiny Tower constructed a spot in our hearts instantly. In this cutesy app you "build a tiny tower and manage the businesses and bitizens that inhabit it." I mean seriously, it calls its inhabitants "Bitizens," could anything ever be cuter than that? So how do take control of their lives and homes? Micromanaging (fitting).

You build story after story in your tiny tower, restock items, hire bitizens for jobs, and eventually create a striving ecosystem for your little workers. Somehow Tiny Tower avoids being super stressful and we love imagining how different our towers could have been.

That's it for this Game Time. Leave your Hanging with Friends username in the comments if you're looking for challengers!
