The gaming industry is about to come grinding to a cacophonous, all-encompassing halt for the next few days, but luckily we got all of the gaming news and announcements we need to hold us over until the holiday is over.
Chrono Trigger Coming to iOS
Aside from maybe Grand Theft Auto III, it's hard to imagine another game iOS gamers want more than Chrono Trigger. A vaunted relic from the golden age of Japanese RPGs on the Super Nintendo, Chrono Trigger is widely considered to be one of the best role-playing games ever made. Though gamers who prefer their games to be realistic might be turned off by the copious oddities like time travel and talking frogs.
The Desert Bus Cometh
Desert Bus is something of an inside joke in the gaming industry. Years ago Penn and Teller made a game for the Sega Genesis (that was never released) that was mostly about pranking your friends. Desert Bus was one such game which tasked you with driving from Tuscon to Las Vegas--in real time. It has since become a popular fundraising game where players will accept pledges from live stream viewers to continue the drive. Now the game has a new charity mission on iOS. All the proceeds from the upcoming $0.99 app will be donated to charity.
