PAX is this weekend, so to celebrate that celebration of nerdy fun-loving fun, we found a whole mess of iPhone and iPad games on mega-super-fun-lovin' sale. Plus, so you can get creative like Gabe and Tycho, an app that lets you make your own comics, one that puts old-timey filters on your video clips, and one for fancying up your photos, whether you took 'em at PAX in Seattle or in your own backyard.

Silent Film Director was just featured in Apple's Retro Apps for iPhone page, so developer MacPhun decided to put it on sale. Free sale! (It was 99 cents before, so you'll save a whole buck, but at our office a buck can buy four Diet Cokes!) We reviewed Silent Film Director here, by the way, with a gallery of 13 screenshots to show you how to use it.

Also from MacPhun, FX Photo Studio is down to 99 cents for the weekend, from its normal price of $1.99. It goes on sale kind of a lot; we've even had it in Price Drop before, as well as on our illustrious list of 10 Great iPhone Camera Apps. So if you don't have it...you should get it.

Universal app Strip Designer is down to 99 cents, from its original price of $2.99. It's super fun to use, letting you take your own photos and turn them into comic books you can print, post on Facebook, or read in comic readers on your Mac or iOS device. We love it on the iPad especially 'cause of the giant screen. And we did this fly how-to on using it, so dive in, true believers.

As we mentioned earlier today, Bejeweled 2 + Blitz is free until Sunday morning, down from 99 cents. You may know Blitz from Facebook, where the multiplayer action is frenzied -- guess what, it's even more fun with a touchscreen.

If you have an iPad and you like music (as if not liking music is some kind of valid life choice), grab Magic Piano HD from Smule, on sale for $0.99, which is $2 off regular price. It's pretty awesome. Oh, and the iPhone version is free!

Street Fighter IV for iPhone is a little bulky at 380MB, but if you have room and you have fond memories of Street Fighter arcade battles, grab it now for $0.99, down from the usual $4.99. Then get your friends to do the same and get crazy with the head-to-head multiplayer over Bluetooth. We put it in a Must-Have Games list with a 3.5-star rating when it was a whopping $9.99, so to get it for 99 cents is a steal.

Also on that same Must Have Games list, but with a 4-star rating, Chaos Rings is an impressively deep RPG from Square Enix, but it always came with a hefty price tag. Well, not at the moment. The iPhone version is $6.99 (down from $12.99) and the iPad version is $7.99 (down from $15.99). They're still some of the most expensive apps we've ever featured on Price Drop, but if you're a fan of Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, you'll love this one too.
