Customize the iPhone's iPod Menu

When you use the iPhone's iPod, there are four bottom buttons for quick access to your media. By default, the four buttons in order from left to right are Playlists, Artists, Songs, and Videos. The More button lets you see your media through six other views: Albums, Audiobooks, Compilations, Composers, Genres, and Podcasts.

You can take a view in the More section and replace one of the default buttons. For example, replace Songs with Podcasts. This how-to was covered in Apple's introductory iPhone video, but in case you missed it or forgot, here are the directions.

You can switch the bottom iPod buttons for faster access to podcasts and audiobooks.

1. Enter your iPhone's iPod by tapping on the iPod icon on the bottom right of the screen.
2. Tap on the More button at the bottom of the screen.
3. See the More bar up top? Tap on the Edit box. You should get a Configure windows that looks like the one in the photo above.
4. Choose the button you want. Place your finger on it, and then drag your finger to the bottom iPod button you want to replace.
5. Lift your finger. You should see your new button in the location you selected.
6. Press the Done button on the upper right of the screen.
