Editor's Blog: Enter the Mac|Life Design Challenge

One of the things you may have noticed about Mac|Life (and MacAddict before it) is that we really like giving away cool stuff. We also like to showcase your ingenuity in the magazine.

If you're a digital illustrator - or even if you just like to doodle on anything you can get your hands on - you should definitely check out our current contest. We want to see your ideas for Apple-inspired product design. Anything is fair game, from digital and nondigital gadgets to home appliances to furniture to cars - and anything else you can dream up. (Your product doesn't even have to exist yet.) As long as it looks like it could have been designed by Apple, it meets our requirements.

If we pick your entry as the winner, you'll receive one of two Wacom Intuos3 tablets - the 4x6 or the 6x11 - depending on your preference. You'll also receive a copy of Freeverse's excellent Lineform drawing software, which received a 2006 Apple Design Award. And we'll publish your entry for all the world to see in our April 2007 issue.

The deadline is approaching fast, so check out our Contests page for all the details!

The new MacLife is big and it's beautiful. Unfortunately, I see little in it for me. If I can get one idea or tip from any issue, I call it a success. But in two months now the only useful item for me was the TextEdit tip last month. It seems like you have gone upscale on reviews. You devote much space to iPhone which isn't out for months. I have an eMac G4 running OSX 10.3.9, hopefully upgrading soon to 10.4. Granted, the variety of machines in use makes it difficult to cover everything. But please give me a reason to continue the magazine.

Completely unrelated to this but what happened to the RSS feed??? Is there another one I can subscribe to now that the MacAddict one is gone? Very frustrating, I don't see one anywhere.

Hang tight -- it's on its way (a week or so).
