News:
This was the week of patent news for Apple fans. Imagine Wii-like media control action for Apple TV with Apple's Wand remote, using the same accelerometer controls Apple's free Remote app uses....Basic hardware patents for elements of the MacBook Pro, the iPhone, and the iPod touch as well as features in OS X like Stacks and Exposé were awarded...and Nokia decided to take the fight to Cupertino with a bevy of claims of patent infringement in the iPhone's manufacture.
Of course, as a New Year dawns that means it's time for Tablet rumors to flood the zone. A former president of Google China says it's totally on track and he's in a position to know a little something about it...Rumors also say that Apple's stocking up on 10" touch display screens which seems a good indicator of something, we just can't put our finger on what...a little trademark action from Cupertino suggests that the Tablet might be saddled with the horrific name of iSlate and might be managed from your desktop through a program called iGuide...and should the Tablet actually for really real come out, it will change your life and that's the truth.
Randomly speaking, sales of iWork surged last year even with Microsoft's 2008 Office continuing to dominate the field...Apple let pass a deadline to update Boot Camp to handle Windows 7, if you really care...AT&T says NYC can't handle the iPhone, meaning that the carrier is passing the buck as they drop the ball again on their weak coverage... the App store did gangbusters business this Christmas...and what looked like a too good to be true MacBook price for educators and students was just that, too good to be true.
