Perhaps the A4 (or a related chip) in a new iPhone would happen as another carrier (such as Verizon) is added to iPhone's capabilities. Living in SF has taught me an iPhone in my city is just an iPod, a nice one, but the phone part still doesn't work.

Also unlikely: you won’t see an Intel Atom in an Apple system of any kind. When did Apple change the specs of the Macbook Air to not include the Atom?

The MacBook Air has never used an Atom processor.
