Car Traveling
Don’t be a victim of the phrase, "Honey, just stop and ask for directions." Pack one of these applications to get to your destination.

TomTom GPS ($49.99 for US Maps for iPhone)
If you don’t already have a GPS system or application for your iPhone, we recommend this application for getting to your destination on time. With optional traffic status, this application is a must-have for traveling.

AT&T Navigator (free for iPhone, $9.99 monthly fee)
If the TomTom GPS application is too expensive for you, or you don’t need a GPS application all the time, then you might want to consider AT&T’s Navigator. The application provides much of the same functionality as the TomTom app, but does it for a $9.99 monthly fee that appears on your AT&T bill.

RouteBuddy Atlas (free for iPhone and iPad)
This application lets you access free maps from multiple sources, including OpenCycleMap, OpenPisteMap, OpenStreetMap, Afan Valley, and Yosemite Valley. If you’re accessing an online-only map, you have the ability to cache it for offline viewing. In addition, the RouteBuddy store offers up even more map choices.
Traveling with Kids
"Are we there yet?" ... "How about now?" Give your kids these applications on an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, and hopefully, they'll be entertained for the duration of the trip. Fingers crossed.

DoodleJump ($0.99 for iPhone)
This insanely addictive game for the iPhone will keep your kids (or yourself) entertained for hours, constantly trying to beat your last score. Jump your time away with Doodle Jump.

Asphalt 5 ($4.99 for iPhone or $6.99 for iPad)
Probably one of the best racing games for the iPad, this game features rich graphics that will leave you engaged in a fun single or multi-player race.

JellyCar 2 ($0.99 for iPhone or $2.99 for iPad)
Designed by Disney, this puzzle game has you driving a “squishy” car around a maze that you can customize with the level editor.

Charadium (free for iPhone or $4.99 for iPad)
Who doesn’t like a good game of charades? This iPhone/iPad game lets you draw hints to words right on the screen for a group of people online to guess.
Keeping Up With Sports
Just because you might be on vacation doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice your sports.

ESPN ScoreCenter (free for iPhone or $4.99 for iPad)
Keeping up with sports scores couldn't be easier with ESPN's ScoreCenter application for iPhone and iPad. From the NFL, to golf, to NASCAR, this application has you covered ... covered in sports scores, that is.

MLB at Bat ($14.99 for iPhone or $14.99 for iPad)
MLB at Bat is “the” application for viewing all MLB baseball game stats, live video, and player information. If you’re a baseball fanatic, don’t leave home without it.

F1 2010 ($2.99 for iPhone)
If you’re into Formula 1 Racing, then this application is a must have for keeping up with scores, racer and car information, and previous race information. If only there was a huge F1 race this weekend...
Going to the Beach
Ah... the beach. A place to relax, swim, stare at the wonderful sunset (well, if you’re not in the Gulf of Mexico right now), and get a nice sunburn. Here’s some applications that will keep you enjoying your time when visiting the beach.

Sun Alert ($0.99 for iPhone and iPad version)
When you’re at the beach, it can be important to monitor the sun and weather conditions. Sun Alert for the iPhone allows you to calculate the amount of sunlight exposure time that’s right for your skin type and sun screen SPF.

Shralp Tide (free for iPhone)
Shralp Tide is a great application for those who like to surf. This app lets you see what level the current tide is at as well as the low and high tide report. You can also see the tide report for the current day and the next four days.
Going to the Movies
Sometimes you just want to go see a good movie. Here’s some of our favorite resources when researching movies and theatres.

IMDB (free for iPhone or iPad)
The Internet Movie Database provides an incredible number of awesome facts and user ratings for every movie under the sun. The iPhone and iPad app gives you the same access with fewer taps.

Fandango (free for iPhone)
Fandango lets you search for movies at surrounding theaters. In addition to looking at trailers and movie times, you can purchase your movie tickets right from the app.

Movies (free for iPhone)
Movies lets you see reviews, trailers, and get show times for local theaters.
Gaming
Memorial Day is great for catching up on gaming, and here’s a few games we’ve recently had fun with.

Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99 for iPhone or $9.99 for iPad)
One of our all-time favorite games on the iPhone is also on the iPad. The object of this game is to kill all of the zombies before they reach your house. To do this, you have to plant zombie-killing plants. Watch out, or they will eat your brains!

Harbor Master HD (free for iPad)
Harbor Master is casual gaming at its best. See how many boats you can guide safely to their dock before they crash into each other. The new version for iPad lets you use in-app purchase to buy additional levels.

NOVA HD ($6.99 for iPad)
NOVA is probably one of the best action/shooter games on the iPhone, and it’s even better on the iPad. Make your way through various space threats to fight for mankind's survival.
Relaxing
Sometimes you just don’t want to go anywhere. We feel like that when we look at the traffic report on some holidays. For those times, there’s always a few apps that you can just kick back with and enjoy your iPad or iPhone.

Netflix (free for iPad)
If you have a Netflix subscription, then you’re all set for catching up on movies in your instant queue. If you haven't yet signed up for Netflix, then there's never been a better time.

ABC Player (free for iPad)
ABC has really done an amazing job putting their content on the iPad, so why not kick back and watch (or re-watch) that last episode of LOST that you missed during your busy week.

aSleep Classic ($0.99 for iPhone or $1.99 for iPad)
This app lets you listen to relaxing ambient noises. Plus, there's controls for a built-in timer, volume control, and speed control. You'll never fall asleep the same again.

Ambiance ($0.99 for iPhone)
This app is called an "environment enhancer" because it allows you to play over 800 relaxing sounds. This app also allows you to mix sounds to your hearts ears content. You could be a sleep DJ.
