So you plan on waiting in line for an iPad 2, but you don't know what to pack, what to do to keep yourself entertained, or how to ensure that you stay warm? Oh, well that's why we wrote you this handy guide, of course. Here are a few tips for staying warm, staying entertained, and making the most out of your iPad-line-waiting experience.
Bring a friend

Waiting in line gets boring, and if you need to use the bathroom or grab a bite to eat, who will save your spot? Friends can do really well to help with this, and keep you company so you don't go insane from the hours of waiting.
Wear layers and brightly colored shirts

If you're waiting in line as a group, make sure to color coordinate your shirts and wear plenty of layers to keep yourself warm. Especially if you're holding the spot in line while your friends get food.
Pledge your allegiance with your wardrobe

Make sure to wear your favorite Mac shirt that definitely does not suggest you use a PC at home -- or at work, for that matter.
Drink plenty of fluids

This kid has the right idea. FLUIDS RULE!
Bring your furry friend to share in the experience

Bringing your canine companion to wait in line with you can be a good idea, especially if he is well behaved and won't drive the other iPad 2 waiters a tad nuts. Also, if it's cold, he can probably keep you warm, and after you get your product he can hold on to the bag for you -- like this lovely fellow.
Get in the right line

While this may not apply to this particular iPad launch because there were no pre-orders, do make sure that you're standing in the right line. After all, you don't want to be that person.
Bring something to keep you busy

Bring any combination of MacBook, iPad or iPhone to keep you company while you're waiting for the Apple Store to start selling the iPad 2. Seriously, if you just end up sitting there until the 5:00 PM launch hour, you'll go crazy staring at the passersby and thinking about how cold -- or bored -- you are.
Bring something to sit on

The floor is going to be either cold, wet, or both. Bring one of those cool camping chairs to sit in and keep your butt from falling asleep. Sleeping bags also work if you're planning on napping in between shifts of holding the spot in line. We'd strongly advise against tents, however, because they take up too much room from other line dwellers.
Get to know your neighbors

Waiting in line is a long and arduous process, so do get to know your neighbors for the few hours that you'll be confined to your spot in line.
If you follow along with these few suggestions you'll enjoy passing the time in line as you wait for your new iPad 2.
