Hey guys, I had finally decided that summer would be my turn to upgrade since I'm still hanging on to my 2nd gen iPhone running the EDGE network. I've just about used up all my 8 GB, so iPhone 3G or 3G S users, quit your whining!

Hey Roberto Baldwin, kurrgo
What's wrong with upgrading to the iPhone4?
Your emphasis at this point should point toward the iOS and to the wireless network. Because, regardless of the phone or the "G"; you need a fast and efficient wireless to support it. I live in an environment with an EDGE wireless and an iPhone4. So what? An iPhone 5 would not be anymore useful. Thank God for my Airport Base Station.
I would like to see AT&T stop dragging their feet in upgrading their wireless network.
Another iPhone 5 is not the solution.
And customarily, WWDC is not about another iPhone....

There's nothing wrong with the 4 - I would LOVE one!

I just bought my first iPad (iPad 2) and can't justify another spend right now. Plus - last time I bought my iPhone 3, it went from $199 to $99 in a month or 2. Just want to make sure I'm spending wisely. If the 5 comes out, the 4 will be more affordable (or the 5 will be worth the extra $$).

That makes a lot of sense to me Kurrgo because I am exactly on the other side of your logical reasoning.
I do not have an iPad yet. So it would not make sense to purchase an iPhone 5 when an iPad 2 or higher will do for me if nothing else, reading a nice book, Time, American Scientific or NY Times article "a la glass"...
Congratulations on your new iPad 2.
I envy you! My toy wish-list is too long right now since it ranges from new golf irons, DSLR lenses to MacPro memory upgrades and all the incidentals...That's why I have remained cleared of the Apple Store. I have not even seen the new iPad 2 yet... It's a discipline thing.

Meanwhile, enjoy yours!
Cheers!

Pushing back the announcement of the iPhone to September makes sense. Although it will be difficult waiting those extra months, it makes sense to move the announcement and combine it with the iPod announcements. The iPhone 4 continues to sell well. It also gives Apple time to refine iOS 5 and secure any additional legal agreements they may need for NFC payments. It will also give the networks time to do an initial build out of LTE. Apple may not always be the first to adopt a new technology since they focus on the end-user experience, but the LTE bandwagon will be a good one to be on.

Also, if Apple continues to hold a ridiculous lead with the iPad 2, it wouldn't surprise me if they push the iPad 3 announcement to September 2012. Maybe September will become the iOS device announcement event.

I've been holding on to my iPhone 3GS I really need an iPhone 5. But September for iOS devices does make sense.
