Portal 2 is here, it's dark, it's snarky, it's funny, and it's really, really, really hard. To alleviate a few future headaches, we present a walkthrough guide to 10 of Portal 2's toughest levels, complete with screenshots and step-by-step explanations. With any luck, these will help make an amazing game that much better....

Test Chamber 6:
1. Your goal: To get the laser into the receiver.

3. Create a portal where the laser hits and another portal to bounce it into the receiver.

5. Fire your portal gun at a random surface to break the laser link and raise the platform with you on it.

1: Your goal: Bounce the laser to the receiver. Create a portal on the floor in front of you and a portal inside the cage to reach the button.

2: Once inside, push the button to drop the mirror box.

3: Drop the mirror box through the portal to have it reach the other side.

6: Once you've climbed the stairs, create a portal on the floor in front of you.

7: From the top of the staircase, create a portal under the mirror box to transport it over to you.

8: Drop the mirror box on the switch and you're home free.

1. Once the level begins, allow wait for the first two weighted cubes to fizzle before being given an actual cube. Pick up the cube and use it to block the laser in order to bring down the platform.

2. After the platform has been lowered, step on it, turn around and create a portal under the weighted cube.

3. Create another portal nearby to shift transport the weighted cube and restore the laser. The platform will then rise to the next level with you on it.

4. Create a portal on the angled platform to the right.

5. Create a portal on the floor to fall into for additional momentum.

6. Once you have the weighted cube on the second level, pick it up, make sure there's a portal to fall through on the ground floor and fall through it.

7. After being flung up near the switch with the weighted cube, drop the weighted cube on the switch to activate a platform that you can be launched on to.

8. Create a portal on the angled platform to the left.

9. Create a portal on the ground floor and fall into it, the additional momentum propelling you to the exit.

10. Once at the exit, walk through and head on to the next level.

1. You're going to have to direct the laser to the receiver to open the door.

2. This hole is the key to the level. Take a good look around to make sure you know where it is.

3. Once the staircase has formed, walk through the emancipation grid and push the button to drop the mirrored cube.

4. Once the mirrored cube has dropped, head outside the Emancipation Grid and fire a portal through the hole.

5. Create a portal on the wall, pick up the box and carry it through. You'll be inside the Emancipation Grid now and able to put the mirrored cube wherever you like.

6. Use the mirrored cube to angle the laser towards the target. Once contact is made, the exit door will open.

7. Head outside the Emancipation Grid and you're home free.

1. This is the aerial faith plate. It will violently launch you where you need to go.

2. Wait for the ceiling to descend and create a portal to launch through from the aerial faith plate here.

3. Create a second portal over on the right so the aerial faith plate will launch you through to the other side.

4. Once you've been launched to the upper deck, take a quick look around.

5. Create a portal on the pad by the laser cannon.

6. Jump to the lower level, then use the aerial faith plate to launch you through the portal.

7. Once you've landed, push the button to drop the mirrored cube.

8. Create a portal on the other angled surface to eventually reach the mirrored cube.

9. Drop down, then use the aerial faith plate and the portals you've created to reach the mirrored cube.

10. After picking up the mirrored cube, drop down and reflect the laser so it hits the white wall.

11. Once the laser has been reflected, create a new portal on the angled surface to eventually reach the upper levels.

12. Head back down to the aerial faith plate, make sure you have a portal ready and launch yourself to get to the upper levels.

13. Create a pair of portals on the white wall to be able to pass the laser through the wall and hit the target.

14. Once the laser hits the target, the stairs will activate and you're free to leave the level.

1. This is the natural light bridge. It'll be your new best friend.

6. Create a matched portal in the chasm to begin working your way down.

7. Enter through the portal and begin using the natural light bridge to walk through the space between the walls.

8. Create a new portal to extend the natural light bridge while in between the walls.

9. Create a portal on a slightly lower level to be able to drop down and have access to the falling weighted cube.

10. Catch the weighted cube as it falls.

11. Take the weighted cube through the portal and back above the chasm.

12. Put the weighted cube aside for the time being.

13. Create a portal on the right wall to be able to travel over to the switch.

14. Create another portal and cross over to the switch while holding the weighted cube.

15. Create a portal below you to access the natural light bridge back to the area above the chasm.

16. Cross over on the natural light bridge to the main area above the chasm.

17. The door's open, the exit's there and you're free to move on to the next level.

1. At the beginning of the level, take a quick look around. You'll have to activate a laser, bounce it off three sensors, fire it into a target and active a natural light bridge to cross a gap and escape the level.

2. Create a portal on the ceiling to extend the natural light bridge as needed.

3. Strafe to the right, creating a second portal and beaming the natural light bridge through the floor to act as a shield from sentry gun fire.

4. Once safe, create a portal on the ledge on the far side of the room.

5. Create a second portal and walk through to arrive on the ledge with the button.

6. Push the button to have the dispenser drop the mirrored cube.

7. Create a new portal on the ceiling to teleport the natural light bridge to wherever it's needed.

8. Create a second portal here to extend the natural light bridge and block the redirection cube as it's flung from the dispenser.

9. Push the button, have the dispenser fling the redirection cube and the natural light bridge will block it and allow it to be collected.

10. Create a portal behind you to begin heading over to the main part of the level.

11. Enter the portal. Now create another portal on the ceiling to begin rerouting the natural light bridge as a shield.

12. Create a second portal on the ground near you to use the natural light bridge as a shield against sentry gun fire.

13. Bring the redirection cube over the the laser and angle it so it goes through the two sensors to your right.

14. Use the second redirection cube to fire the laser at the sentry gun and destroy it. After all this time, this will be immensely satisfying.

15. Once the sentry is destroyed, angle the redirection cube so the laser goes through the third sensor and into the target.

16. Create a portal to extend the natural light bridge through the wall, thereby creating a quick bridge to cross over to the exit from.

1. At the start of the level, you'll need to bounce a laser through three pods and get past several sentry guns. This is going to be fun.

2. Drop to the main floor and grab the mirrored cube.

3. Create a portal in the area where the laser is originating from.

5. Use the mirrored cube to bounce the laser to the first sensor.

6. Drop down to the main floor and create a portal on the ceiling.

7. Create a second portal near you and walk through to drop down and grab the second mirrored cube.

8. Grab the second mirrored cube and drop down to the main floor with it.

11. Once the weighted cube has been dropped through the portal and hits the aerial faith plate, it'll start bouncing. Time the mirrored cube's bouncing as best you can and create a portal in the wall so that the mirrored cube can be shot across the room to where you need it to be.

12. Create the same set of portals for yourself, using the aerial faith plate's velocity to propel you across the room so that you wind up with the mirrored cube you just vaulted over there. Once you've arrived, use the mirrored cube to angle the laser so it hits the second sensor.

13. Create a portal above the aerial faith plate, then create a portal on the ground and jump into it.

14. You'll now begin bouncing between your portal and the aerial faith plate. While bouncing, create a portal in the area above where you've just redirected the laser.

16. Drop the mirrored cube through the portal, then follow it.

1. Enter the level, look around and you'll notice a water dispenser, a propulsion gel dispenser and a weighted cube trapped in a glass box. Time to get to work.

9. Begin creating secondary portals around the room to cover the floor in propulsion gel.

10. Create enough secondary portals to effectively cover the floor in propulsion gel.

11. With the floor covered in propulsion gel, make a running jump to the raised platform. The propulsion gel will allow you to jump higher and farther, making a previously impossible jump now feasible.

12. Begin creating secondary portals around the switch and the weighted cube. This will allow the propulsion gel to cover the cube and have it bounce off the switch, thereby raising the elevator and allowing you to leave the level.

My 12-year old son beat it yesterday…but he has played a lot of Portal 1.

I beat it with only a few hangups. Still, sat next to a few people who just couldn't figure out a few puzzles if their lives depended on it. Still, Ray and Robbie clearly aren't geniuses like your 12 year old and me.
