There’s no doubt that new CEO Tim Cook’s intentions are pure. As Apple’s Board of Directors swiftly confirmed, there is no one more capable of stepping into Steve Jobs’ shoes, and no one more eager to stay true to Apple’s culture and DNA. But no matter how much wisdom Steve has imparted on Cook or how many late-night phone calls they have, decisions no longer go through Jobs. And as with any regime change, things will be different, no matter how reassuring Tim’s words are.
Now, that doesn’t mean Apple’s going to suddenly start selling iPhones with slide-out keyboards, but some noticeable changes might be in store over the next year or so. Click through for a look at what we might be seeing a little different this time next year.

This is the saddest post i have ever read in my life. It's full of things that only microsoft lovers would want apple to do. Why? Because it would cause apple to FAIL. Seriously!

instead of the dumb ideas listed in this article, we have some good ones brought over from pre-OS X days?
I want Mac OS themes back. I want to be able to customize my OS more like I was able to in OS 9.
I want printers in the Dock like OS 9 desktop printers.
How about they stop adding iOS features to a desktop OS where they have no bearing?
I want OS X to copy files as fast as OS 9 was able to copy files, especially over a network. I have to site there and wait for it to think about copying the files before it actually starts copying them. OS 9 started copying immediately.
Finder labels that can be customized to my liking.
OS X is a nice OS, but it lacks in thought and design and is trying to be too flashy (no pun intended). I don't care about animated windows or auto save. I care about have the OS do what I want it to when I want it to.
GIVE ME MORE CONTROL, APPLE!

You can have printers in the Dock.
1. Go to System Preferences, click on Print & Fax
2. Select the printer you want in the Dock on the left side of the window.
3. Click on Open Print Queue button
4. The printer icon will appear in the Dock
5. Control (ctrl) + click on the icon and choose Keep in Dock (may have to go to Options first, depending on OS)When you close the print queue, the printer icon will remain in the Dock for easy access. (Unless Lion has disabled this, still works as of 10.6.8, which is my current version.)
As far as the labels...while you can't choose colors, you can customize the label names.
1. Go to Finder menu, choose Preferences.
2. Click on the Labels tab
3. Type in a name for each label color.
4. Close the Preferences window.Hope this info helps!

1. They do need charisma on the stage. Can't disagree with you there.
2. budget macs... no thanks. The Only reason Mac mini is under $1k is it has no keyboard, IPS monitor, or mouse.
3. Woot, Steve's gone, let's spend all this money he left laying around... lol
4. Stop spamming the CEO, they have more important things to do that read emails about Flash, OS licensing and Blu Ray support.
5. Flash is dying a slow death. Give it up already.
6. This one is the most ridiculous of all. Here license OS-X so that people can instal it on their 5 year old dell, get frustrated because it runs like absolute crap and blame Apple. This would kill 90% of all Mac sales, Destroy the genius bar concept, and the store concept.
I can see it now. I installed OS-X on my eMachine desktop, but it only has 1GB ram, no bluetooth, so I can't use Apple's trackpad. No one makes a usb trackpad, so I can't use ANY of the gestures from Lion and it locks up and freezes. This Apple stuff is horrible... Again. All Apple's fault they bought a $200 eMachine.
The only way Apple could do this and not go bankrupt: charge $1000 for OS-X (single license) and have it check the system before it would instal, if it didn't meet the specs of Apple's latest hardware, you just bought yourself a $1,000 frisbee. (of course disclose this up front before selling it)
7. An Apple TV. I agree.
8. I know people want blu ray support but its NEVER going to happen. Apple is trying to get people to buy and rent movies and TV show from its own store. Maybe you've heard of it. It's called iTunes.
Apple is pushing people AWAY from a physical disc. Where can you buy that Lion upgrade DVD? Oh, wait, you can't. It's digital.....
9. iTunes SELLS music by the song or album. Renting music... hmm seems like a total waste of money to me.
10. Leave my Apple Logo alone! Spots, Bah!People are cheap. There is a Reason iMacs use IPS Monitors, solid aluminum enclosures etc. IPS monitors have incredible color quality. I applaud Apple for making people buy something GOOD.
Take your $200 TFT panel up to the Apple store and hook it up to an iMac on mirror mode and look at how BAD that TFT panel looks. People buy $300 bose systems because they have never listened to an SACD on a REAL audiophile system. ARC mono blocks and a set of Magnepan MG20.1's
People buy $500 LCD's with Horrible picture quality because they never looked at the Pioneer Kuro Pro Plasma.
I heard something once that throughout my life has come true 99.9% of the time. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Cheap stuff is cheap stuff, and it's bad, M'Kay.

I think the keynotes will stay. I expect to see Cook as the ringmaster with a lot more Forstall and a little less Schiller.
Here's my 10:
1. iPad Nano (lower-priced 7 incher to compete with Amazon's offerings)
2. iPad/iPhone PRO - both with high quality screens, cameras and pico projectors
3. iCloud TV (different name for the Apple TV set)
4. Television subscriptions (Hulu or otherwise)
5. Revised media subscription policies on App Store
6. iCloud for Small Business (like Office 365 with SMB email accounts)
7. Apple Maps/Navigation (Google finally gets the boot, also used for bicycle and fitness devices)
8. iCar (in-car navigation, information and entertainment using any iOS device in the car or it's cellular data or iCloud syncing when in the garage within range of wireless network)
9. AirPrint (using iCloud printer drivers to become universal)
10. Acquisition targets (LG, Texas Instruments, eBay, Twitter, Nintendo)

Stupid ideas = Stupid writer (no offense.) Flash come on its already dead now, (only used for Facebook games, also most of theme have or are planing to switch to HTML5) it already counts for less then 1/2 the web. So why would you want to add a dyeing tech?
2. no mac will ever be under $1000 or it WILL BE a piece of junk!
3. your most STUPID idea giving Mac OS to other platforms, the reason Mac IS POPULAR is Apple builds hardware WITH the OS.
4 blueray i have not heard that in about a few years. I think we have left Disk's in the dust with Full Movie downloads at better quality now.
To the writer look back at what has made apple the TOP company in the world, your asking them to change all of that. if you want a PC go get a PC, if you want a product that works buy a Mac!
