It's always been easy to snap and store photos on iOS, but now you can snap a photo and edit it with just a few taps. However, if you're eager to try out the new iPhoto for iOS, but all of your photos live somewhere else, you might be stumped about how to get all of those photos onto your iPad. Well, we'll show you!
Read on to learn how you can import your digital memories into iPhoto for iOS and prepare them for editing, viewing, and sharing.
Import from Photos app on your iOS Device
By default, iPhoto automatically imports all of the existing albums on your iOS device. You can view photos stored here by navigating to the main iPhoto screen and tapping the “Albums” tab. From this view, you will see your Photo Stream album, Saved Photos album, and any other albums that you created in the Photos app on your device.
Sync from iTunes
To import your existing Photo albums (events) from iPhoto on your Mac to your iOS device, you will need to use iTunes to sync the data over.

In iTunes, select your device from the sidebar, and then choose the Photos tab. Check the box beside the “Sync Photos From” checkbox, and then choose the app to sync from (iPhoto, Aperture, or a folder of pictures). Next, choose to sync everything or select the albums, events, or faces to sync over. When you are done selecting the photos to sync, click Apply, and then Sync your device.

The photos will automatically be synced to the Photos app, and will subsequently be available for use in the iPhoto application.
Import from Camera Connection Kit

You can also get your photos directly onto your iPad and into iPhoto from your camera or SD card by using the Camera Connection Kit. Once you connect the device, it will automatically import your photos to the Photos app on your iOS device, and iPhoto will import them during the next launch.
Beam Your Photos Between Devices
One new featured introduced with iPhoto for iOS is called Beam. This feature lets you quickly share one or more photos between two or more iOS devices connected to the same wireless network or in range of Bluetooth (usually less than 30 feet).

To do this, select your photos, and click the Share button in iPhoto. Next, click the Beam button.

If another iOS device is on the same wireless network, and has iPhoto opened, the device name will appear in the Beam selector. Choose the iPhone, iPod, or iPad to send the photos to, and your request will be sent to the receiving device.

Whenever the recipient accepts the transfer, the photos will instantly begin transferring over-the-air. Your Beamed photos will go into a new Album called "Beamed".
