8 New Features in Adobe InDesign CS5.5

Aldus PageMaker virtually overnight cemented the Mac as “the” platform for desktop publishing in 1985, a tradition that continued in 2004 when the mantle was passed to Adobe InDesign. A lot has changed since then, and with the latest CS5.5 update, InDesign is no longer just for laying out print publications.
Adobe now touts InDesign CS5.5 as a platform for “professional page layouts for print and digital publishing” -- a sure sign of the times if ever there were one. Over the last few versions, InDesign has adopted publishing skills for producing PDF and EPUB documents, and the latest CS5.5 edition advances the application further with Folio Producer tools for use with the company’s Digital Publishing Suite.
