Enhanced Multiscreen Preview Panel
Adobe is catering to more than just desktop web developers with Dreamweaver CS5.5, offering up an enhanced Multiscreen Preview panel that quickly allows you to see your designs in three different views all at once -- for example, a PC screen, iPhone and tablet device. Quick modifications are refreshed right away so you can get on to the bigger tasks.

Enhanced CSS3: Updated Live View
CSS3 is all the rage with web designers now, so it’s no surprise that Dreamweaver CS5.5 has beefed up its toolset for the technology. Among these changes is an updated Live View for CSS3 attributes, including the ability to add rounded corners with the new border-radius property.

Enhanced CSS3: Code Hinting and Panel
Dreamweaver CS5.5’s CSS panel now supports editing new CSS3 properties, while Category View has sections for new groups such as Mozilla and WebKit to make short work of searching for new rules. Rich CSS3 code hinting is also part of CS5.5, with a host of supported options.

New jQuery Integration
Integrated jQuery code hinting and starter layouts in Dreamweaver CS5.5 will make short work of designing for different types of mobile devices. The industry-leading JavaScript framework is now directly integrated into CS5.5, making it easy for web designers to add this interactivity to their web pages with just a few clicks.

PhoneGap Integration
While Apple and Google provide their own tools for designing iOS and Android apps, Adobe continues to invest heavily into its PhoneGap framework, which is now integrated as an extension with Dreamweaver CS5.5. The company’s “write once, publish everywhere” development model brings standards-based technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript to your mobile apps in a snap.

Live View Enhancements
CSS3 isn’t the only area of Dreamweaver CS5.5 that’s gotten Live View enhancements -- you can now preview and manage your web, mobile and multiscreen projects with greater accuracy, all at the same time, from one place. You’ll see real-time rendering of your code, including JavaScript and video, with updated support for the latest version of WebKit.

W3C Validation
If you’re working with multiple versions of XHTML and HTML, you’ll appreciate Dreamweaver CS5.5’s new live W3C validation service for increased accuracy and high-quality coding. Dreamweaver now sends your code straight to the W3C validation service for processing and delivers real-time results from an internet connection.

FTPS and FTPeS Support
FTP continues to evolve, which is why Dreamweaver CS5.5 now adds native support for FTPS (FTP over SSL) as well as FTPes (FTP over explicit TLS/SSL), which are growing in popularity due to their more secure, encrypted file transfers.
