iPhone? (2006)
Way back in 2006, there was no iPhone. People were still scarred by the iTunes Phone attempts made with manufacturers like Motorola. But it was coming. We knew it was coming. And there were spy shots, like this beauty using an Apple remote and a reality distorting screen that appeared in the air. Ah, the good old days.

iPad? (2006)
Back in 2006, there was no video capable iPod, either. And there certainly was no iPad, but that did not stop sources from producing squirreled away images of the potential new "iTablet", including this one with the requisite mysterious markings and screen display.

Mac Mini? (2007)
Based on not much more evidence than the fact that the Mac Mini was due for an upgrade, this site claimed it was being outright replaced -- by the Mac Nano. Well, to be fair, it does look a bit like the current Mac Mini, but... no.

iPhone 3G Lite? (2008)
Message board spy shots tend to be the funnest. This one came with the text, "A person I know claims to have one for testing purposes and took a photo with Photo Booth. According to my anonymous source the phone hardware is just a Motorola Razr running the iPhone 2.0 software. Apparently Apple plans to take the same approach as Google Android with their new iPhone 2.0 software."

Um, okay.

iPad? (2009)
This site really nailed it, claiming the new Apple tablet would be dubbed iSlate and go on sale in January 2010. You really want to appreciate how the screen image layer cuts off half of the home button. Solid work there, bro.

iPad? (2010)
By January of 2010, the anticipation for the new iSlate (they weren't really going to name it the iPad, right? Right??) was intense. However, it was intense enough for anyone to buy off on this joker.

The night before the announcement of the first iPad, as if we did not have enough to obsess about, this gem came floating in from Twitter, where the person who outed it said he "got it from a friend". Pay particular attention to the end of the article, where the writer muses, "There's only a day to wait people, then we will see if the world is really ready for a Tablet/iSlate/iPad revolution."

iPhone 5? (2011)
As we wait for the next iPhone, people have taken to stalking potential Apple employees on public transportation, apparently. This tipster claims to have caught the device being used with by a likely Apple employee on the way home from work in San Francisco. Although his photo is grainy, he claims he got a “very good look” at the device and said the photo “didn’t do it justice.”

Really? Ya think??
