This is the view from the very front of the Electronic Arts booth in South Hall. It's enormous and dwarfs all but a few others on the show floor (only the mega-giants like Microsoft and Nintendo). By freak accident we just happened to snap this picture while both monitors were displaying iOS devices. Bonus points!

This is a quick shot of the other direction in the booth showing off EA's heavy focus on sports franchises this year. Many other titles were behind closed doors, but Madden and FIFA (with the iOS versions side by side with consoles) taking up more than half their booth space.

Inside the Madden section of the booth we creeped over an attendee's shoulder as he prepared to snap the ball in Madden on an iPad. Maybe it was just for presentation value, but each EA iOS game was being piped into an HDTV.

FIFA 12 looks outstanding in motion on the iPad. There's a lot of great competition for the iOS soccer crown, but EA looks like it may take the cake with this latest game.

We also slipped over to this booth where the upcoming tablet game Shadowgun was being shown. It's still nothing more than a tech demo showing off its awesome graphics, but goodness gracious does it look awesome. We're really hoping they get put to some good use and the game ends up being decent.

Of course, it wouldn't be a consumer electronics trade show if we didn't pay a visit to the Parrot AR Drone. Seriously, we've seen this thing at every single trade show since CES 2010, and don't expect to be missing them any time soon. At E3 they have a huge chunk of space that's roped off with netting where players can try their hand at flying the drone.

To round out the day we stopped by Warner Bros. and spied an updated edition of the classic Root Beer Tapper. Not quite as high tech as EA's offerings, but at least their sign is pretty.
