There comes a time in one's life when they start to remember something as simple as the price of a movie ticket being significantly cheaper when they were young. I remember when a night at the movies was only similar to registering for a unit in junior college, whereas now it seems more like a weekend seminar at an Ivy League. The only thing taxing on your heart when going to the local cineplex should be the approximation of butter that comes from a spout.
Dealflicks presents a modest reprieve for your wallet. Essentially, there are daily and weekly coupons available from participating theaters, easily redeemable by your mobile device. The caveat is that, more often than not, you're not shaving price down from the admission itself, but rather the combined offer of admission and an item from the concession stand. While a soda larger than your head is usually less appealing than that spa weekend Groupon you've been eyeballing, Dealflicks seems to be teeming with many different offers, as long as you have participating theaters in your area.
Ultimately, going to the movies has changed. Even the most quiet, unheard-of independent films can be interrupted by the glowing hue of an iOS device, and the cost of gimmicky expensive equipment has driven up ticket prices. Dealflicks may not solve every problem facing theater-goers today, but if you attend movies even infrequently, it's pretty safe to say that the app is essential.
