99Games showed me two upcoming iPad games, including Prison Mayhem. Think of this time-management game like Diner Dash for the hardened iPad gamer, with clever humor and a frantic pace. Coming this month.

99Games' other new iPad title is Empire Builder: Ancient Egypt, a strategic building game with 30 levels and plenty of power-ups and minigames too. It's also coming this month.

I got hands-on with Machine Gun Jetpack, from Halfbrick Studios, maker of Fruit Ninja. Simple two-button controls, tons of zany powerups, and dynamic levels that change every time make it a sure hit. It was hard to put down.

A couple more screens of Machine Gun Jetpack, coming to iPhone this summer.

Dungeon Defenders: First Wave is already tearing it up on iPhone and iPad, but developer Trendy Entertainment gave me an exclusive nugget: It's coming to Mac too. Plus, the cross-platform RPG will let iOS, Android, PC/Mac, AND console players battle together! The high-res graphics are absurdly great.

I also got to try Pulse, a music game for iPad from Cipher Prime. It has no instructions, but I caught on after a couple embarrassing minutes. You tap the dots as the circles pulse over them, and it's all set to beautiful music.

Pulse will have 7 or so songs to start, with more coming later. Think of it like Tap Tap Revenge, only prettier -- it was built with the Unity engine -- and with more butterflies. Coming soon.

Telltale let me play Jurassic Park: The Game, coming in April to Mac and PC. The story is a spinoff of the first movie (remember Dennis Nedry's aborted plan to get dinosaur embryos off the island?), and the graphics are mood are spot-on.

In Jurassic Park: The Game, you play as Gerry, a park employee trapped on the island as everything goes to hell -- and face to face with a dangerous smuggler who came for Nedry's can of Barbasol. Telltale is taking preorders now.

I also got to play with Sphero, a super-cool spherical robot you control with your iOS or Android device. It'll ship around October with two games, and an open API will let devs dream up more applications for it. (My pics were terrible, so this is from getsphero.com.) It's rad, I am telling you.

Firemint, the brains behind Flight Control and Real Racing, are stoked about the iPad 2's improved graphics capabilities as they prepare Real Racing 2 HD. (Real Racing 2 is already out for iPhone, by the way.)

Firemint's newest title is Agent Squeek, which combines Flight Control's path-drawing with stealth as your secret-agent mouse collects cheese and avoids cats across dozens of gorgeous and diverse levels. They wouldn't let us take screens, but it looks amazing and was super-fun to play. Can't wait!

Remember all the controversy about Smuggle Truck? Well, I saw it in action, and it's totally awesome. Beautiful art, fun physics, five goals to hit on each level...and developer Owlchemy Labs really does care about drawing attention to pro-immigration organizations, not just causing an uproar to get attention.

Plus, the iPad version of Smuggle Truck has this sweet level editor, and version 1.5 will let players upload levels to a server, then grab new ones -- unlimited content! I was really impressed with the thoughtfulness and polish, and can't wait for its release. It's just fun.
