How to Edit iPhone Videos for Free with Vimeo

Vimeo just released an app (iTunes link) to help your browse their catalogue of videos and edit your own. Although it isn’t too good at the former, its editing capabilities are very impressive for a free program and you should definitely take a look at it if you fancy making your own short films. We reviewed it here, and this tutorial will guide you through the basics.
Note that Vimeo is only supported on iOS devices with video-recording capabilities: That's the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and fourth-gen iPod touch. It can run on the iPad 2 (but not the iPad 1), but not as a native app. Blowing it up to fill the iPad's screen makes the interface clunky, and your videos look a bit pixelated, but if you don't want to shell out $4.99 for iMovie for iPad, it'll work.
Check out our 9-step tutorial below. Just click any image to see it larger. Questions? Let us know in the comments. And if you've edited a video with Vimeo and uploaded it to Vimeo.com, feel free to share the link!
