They sound as good as they look
If you’ve owned more than one iPod or iPhone, there’s likely a stash of unused white earbuds tucked away somewhere. Apple may have nailed it with their devices but for many, those now-iconic earbuds leave a lot to be desired. But you don’t have to give up style for sound quality. Incase has come to the rescue with a pair of fashionable headphones capable of controlling Apple devices--they sound great, and have sleek good looks that will turn heads.

Sonic from Incase offers a trio of complementary color schemes to suit most every taste.
Sonics arrive in a sturdy gray cube complete with storage bag for maximum protection. A trio of complementary colors are available (Black/Fluro Green, Ash/Orange, and Primer/Blue), with the primary color outside and secondary shade lining each titanium driver inside a pair of soft, suede-covered earcups. For their size, the Sonic headphones are incredibly light--just a hair over seven ounces, making them perfect for hours of use. A pair of 40mm drivers produces an authentic range of sound with deep, rich bass, sharp highs, and a frequency response from 20Hz to 20KHz; midrange sounded a touch muddy to our ears, however. Volume range was suitable for both quiet and loud environments alike, thanks to well-insulated earcups that fit snugly on heads of any size.
Two detachable cables with in-line mic/remotes are included (one for each color), which plug into the left earcup; Incase also includes a quarter-inch adapter. The mic functions identically to Apple’s earbuds, including the ability to call up Siri on the iPhone 4S by holding down the center button. We also tried Sonic with the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Nexus; the center button controlled play/pause but the volume buttons had no effect.
The bottom line. Over ear headphones aren’t for everyone, but Sonic offers tight sound coupled with extreme comfort, at a very reasonable price. We wouldn’t mind a little more clarity from the midrange, but otherwise, these cans offer a listening experience that sounds as good as it looks.

Sonic Over Ear Headphones
Positives
Lightweight, adjustable, and easy to wear for extended periods of time. Good bass and treble response. Detachable audio cables with convenient angled plug.
Negatives
No clear designation for left or right ears (the manual notes audio cable should hang from left ear). Midrange a little muffled to our ears. Pastel color schemes may not be to everyone’s taste. Headphones do not collapse for travel.
