Three Dimensional Multi-Touch Skins
If the image alone on this patent doesn't make you scratch your head, we don't know what will. The patent is essentially for a Multi-Touch "skin" -- or material layer -- that can be used on a physical object or input device. One application Apple describes is sporting equipment, such as a tennis racket. The three dimensions are the sides of the racket's handle. Yeah, we don't really get it either.

Keyless Keyboard
It isn't too hard to imagine a flat keyboard without keys -- we don't really look at our fingers when we type, ourselves. But, it's still a little hard to imagine actually using one.

Magic Glove
These tactile, wired gloves would allow users to access their Multi-Touch devices even in the cold. While it isn't a new concept, we're still curious to see how Apple will make and market these gloves as "magical." We can't really see Apple gloves being as ubiquitous as the iPhone, but you never know--they might be the next white earbuds.

Motion Keyboard for MacBooks
This keyboard patent replaces the need for Trackpads with a motion sensor that tracks gestures. It seems like a step between Trackpad gestures and Multi-"Touch, if such a thing ever existed. Waving your hands around might just be the next scrolling. Hmm, kind of sounds like the technology behind the Nintendo Wii, doesn't it?

Rock n' Rolling Magic Mouse
According to this patent, the Magic Mouse could rotate someday by utilizing a gyroscope. We don't see how this could be very ergonomic, but we're sure Apple knows what they're doing.

Desk Free Computer
Though the iPad is just barely over a year old, Apple is still brainstorming ways to "provide an entirely new category of computer system as compared to desktops and laptops." This one will apparently work without a desk. It looks like a combination of a projector and a computer.

Tiny Pressurized Keys
This patent describes a very small keyboard with pneumatic air-jets that outline the shape of each key. While we can see the applications for the visually impaired, we wonder why Apple is patenting such a tiny keyboard mechanism that seems unlikely to work under a glass screen similar to that of the iPhone 4's.

Secret Decoder Ring For Log-in
This patent describes a touch screen log-in system where the user holds up a small object to access the computer. The name just makes it sound like the kind of prize you find inside of a cereal box.

3D Shapeshifting User Interface

For once, the image speaks for itself, though we're still not sure exactly what it says. We do know that Apple has patented a flat surface that transforms into a 3D environment, though.

Smart Device Cover

While this patent doesn't describe anything ridiculous in the grand scheme of things, it is decidedly anti-Apple. The patent is for a smart cover that interacts with a device such as the iPhone, giving it additional capabilities, like a physical keyboard or game-pad. Seems like something that would blemish Apple's simple design aesthetic, but we're sure we'll like the implementation when we see it.
