Donut Games makes the most awesome and addicting games of all time. If you don’t believe us, just download Rat on a Scooter XL and let it rain down cheese from the heavens. But if rats riding vespas isn’t really what you had in mind, we suggest you check out three other options that just got the free-for-a-limited-time treatment.
These games all contain that little something special that makes them absolutely addicting. Even if they don’t sound interesting or fun, we recommend you try them out. After all, they’re free.
Sunday Lawn
Donut Games
(FREE)
The first game that changed our lives was Sunday Lawn. In it, you control a man mowing his lawn. To move the little lawnmower, simply swipe in the direction you’d like him to go. In order to rack up huge combos, you need to never mow the same square foot of lawn twice. This is where things get tricky: Sunday Lawn quickly becomes a complex game of Snake, with dozens more obstacles to avoid (including hedgehogs).

And for the perfectionist, there seems to always be a way to mow the entire yard (on every level) without running over the same patch of lawn once. To achieve this heroic horticultural status you’ll need quick fingers and a perfect plan of attack. Even if you ‘re not a crazy perfectionist, you can still try and achieve the three-star rating.

The grass is always greener with Sunday Lawn.
Cat Physics
Donut Games
(FREE)
Cat Physics doesn’t look fun. It doesn’t sound fun. But it is fun.
The premise: two cats playing catch doesn’t really do justice to the game’s advanced puzzle-genre. But then again, it’s made by the same company that made a game about a rat grinding on skyscrapers with his scooter…

Believe it or not, this path works.
So how does it work? Each level has draggable arrows which, when the ball hits, will alter the ball’s course. By the end of the game, the cats toss the ball from arrow to arrow to portal to arrow in a nearly endless string of gravity defying catch.
As with all Donut Games, it starts easy and gradually ramps up a mind-melting degree of difficulty. The game also introduces constant new obstacles ranging from portals to triggers to moving gears and arrows, all the while the cats sit with that same expressionless face, anticipating the ball. No one must have told Donut Games that dogs are the animals that play catch. Cats only play claw your face off.

Jungle Crash Land
Donut Games
(FREE)
The third game that Donut Games is giving away for free is a bit different than the rest. It’s not so much a puzzler as one of those iOS games that will have you feverishly mashing at the screen. See, in JCL, you drop bombs from a plane that is trying to land. You have a limited stash of bombs, but the faster you clear the obstacles the faster you can land the plane (and earn a better score).

As soon as you run out of bombs (an inevitability), the plane will try and auto land. Chances are pretty high that you’ll go down in a fiery meteor, but there’s a chance you could live through it and even make it to the next level. Jungle Crash Land is a lot more difficult than the other Donut Games offerings, but it’ll likely have you coming back for more long after the other games have…

That’s it for this week’s Game Time. If you’d like to see your favorite game featured, just holler in the comments!
