Greenpeace Love Hates MacBook Air: Apple, a company named after fruit, has finally staked its cool claim with the folks at Greenpeace. By making the MacBook Air as green as can be, as well as making the environmental impact of whatever is announced part of every announcement, Jobs and Apple have pleased the folks who have long been pushing for the “green PC.” Early reports indicate the planet is pleased. Later reports allege, however, that the exact opposite is true though and that Greenpeace is NOT pleased. Oh, we see. One of thoooosssseee relationships.
AppleTV? Meh.: No lesser journal of note than The Hollywood Reporter (and a few others like the NY Times it should be noted) are not buying all of the AppleTV hoohah. After an early knocking of Blockbuster stock, naysaying heads are speaking up. Balance is cool, but us? We’re still drinking the Kool and the Aid. And apparently are some hackers who are currently working on some native Skype apps for Apple TV.
iPhone Love: iPhone updates have the chattering class loving on it deeply and fully mostly on the occasion of the recently Mac Expo announced enhancements. Which seem to be seconded by, um, the world. O2 customer numbers are through the roof. And with the SDK soon coming? The roof will probably have to be raised.
The Indie World: DRM-free indie music, to the tune of 200 indie labels’ catalogs, is making its way to the iTunes Plus service. Which could help, probably won’t hurt.
What's Next?: Next week? Apple broadcasting Q1 earnings...ooooo, we almost can't wait.
Nothing Warm, Nothing Fuzzy here. Move along: And people still seem to be clucking about Steve's recent dismissing of a fan/reporter at Mac Expo to which we'd like to quote a line from Dr. Doolittle: "you want gratitude? Get a gerbil."
