Previously I wrote about selling your old Mac for a premium price when you have AppleCare that's transferable. I never did tell you what I did with the money I got from selling my MacBook Pro - a May 2006 model. I took the cash and bought a new, mid-level, 2.5GHz MacBook Pro. My thighs and I are happy with my purchase.
The new Penryn chips from Intel have made a huge difference in the running temperature of the latest MacBooks. It's amazing actually. I can leave the thing running all hours of the day or night and I've not found one opportunity to cook the proverbial egg on it yet. It looks like the engineers at Apple and Intel did good this time around.
So owners of PowerBooks and early model MacBook Pros who are fearful of purchasing, yet another, lap burner. Look again, since for my purposes, and possibly for your own, the issue has been resolved. I'm very pleased. On top of that, I also have 4GB of memory, improved video, the faster wireless N network, a faster processor and even better still, an improved experience with my MacBook Pro and all that OS X has to offer. Check it out for yourself!
