Is there a way to add someone who has sent you a text message to your address book?
Yep. It’s easy, if not particularly intuitive, to add a new number to Contacts right from the message itself. To do it, first drag the message downward on your iPhone. You’ll uncover three buttons at the top of the message screen: Call, FaceTime, and Add Contact. If you’ve had a lengthy exchange with someone, tap on the menu bar of the Messages app to jump to the beginning of the conversation. Tap Add Contact, and iOS will offer controls to Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact. Choosing either will send you to the appropriate screen within Contacts, where you can fill in contact details, or attach the telephone number to an existing contact.
Once you’ve added a contact for a particular number, the Add Contact button will change to Contact >, which you can tap to take you to that person’s entry in Contacts. It’s a quick way to make a call when you’re in the middle of a text conversation.

Create a new contact or add to an existing one right from Messages.
