All my tunes and videos won’t fit on my iDevice! How can I take my favorites with me?
Deciding which music and movies to leave behind is tough, but it’s easy to tweak your media-storage settings. Connect your device to your Mac via USB, then select it in the iTunes sidebar. Click each media type at the top of the window, and in each one, turn off the option to sync all files. Then check only the items you want to sync—as you do, the bar at the bottom of the screen will update to show how much space you have left on your device. Click Sync to apply the changes.

iCloud downloading isn’t just for music anymore. Go get your TV episodes, too!
If, down the road, you find the prognosis for living without a certain TV show or song you purchased from iTunes isn’t good, don’t worry. You can use iCloud on a GSM iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, third- or fourth-gen iPod touch, or any model iPad to re-download it wirelessly. Launch iTunes on your device and tap Purchased. There you’ll find searchable lists of the files you’ve bought, and you can beam them down to your device for free.
