Titles in your iMovie videos are more customizable than you might think
Words on the screen are there to display important information, from your film’s title, to a new location or even a list of credits. And given that you’re going to insert them throughout your project, they should be as interesting to look at as possible.
iMovie offers you a great choice of animated titles, taking care of the creation process for you, so all you have to worry about is finding the right words. But you may not be aware that you actually have a lot of freedom to customize the look of any title: you can change its font, size and color. But as you would imagine, from a consumer product that’s designed to be as simple as possible, those options appear limited -- at first glance.

Improve the look of your titles in your iMovie video.
For instance, you only seem to have access to nine different fonts, colors or sizes. Also, you can change the text’s alignment, and apply italics or bold to your selected text only if your chosen font supports this. And that’s about it.
Thankfully, working with all the fonts installed on your Mac at whatever size you like, with a choice of millions of colors, is merely a click away. But although highly desirable, all this versatility has a serious drawback: if you like a particular collection of fonts that aren’t iMovie’s default ones, you have to browse through your entire list each time you want to use them. However, it is possible to replace those default fonts with any other you’d care to use. That way they become available from the simplified selection window, speeding up your workflow. Even better, you can also alter those nine default colors to something a little more to your liking.
Once you’ve read this tutorial, you’ll be able to create iMovie titles that are more unique and in keeping with the overall style of your project. Then your film will be more original than if you’d merely added one of the many default titles unchanged.
