How To Delete Gmail Messages in iOS
How can I trash an email from my Gmail account on my iPhone? Instead of deleting messages, the Mail app in iOS sends everything to Gmail’s Archive.
Starting with iOS 4.0, Apple added the ability for you to archive Gmail emails, and by default, switched the swipe right button to Archive instead of the standard Delete button that was previously in Mail. To reverse that, navigate to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Select your Gmail account and flip the switch labeled Archive Messages to the Off position.
Now, whenever you swipe in a list view, you’ll get a Delete button, and when viewing individual messages, the Trash icon will banish unneeded email with a single tap.

Where is my Delete button? Ahh…now, there it is.

Thats hilarious, since i have been just been clicking "Move" and putting them in the Trash folder. This cuts out a step and makes it so much easier. Thanks!

Damn. I've got my GMail accounts set up as MS Exchange accounts....which, evidently, don't give you the option for this...
