How To Easily Batch Print Labels Using Address Book
With the holidays right around the corner, many people will be mailing holiday greeting cards to their family and friends. Many will end up writing out the addresses on each envelope, but there is an easier way using Address Book. In this how-to, we'll tell you just how easy it can be to batch print labels for any occassion.
To get started, you will need to select the appropriate labels. A wide-variety of printer label sheets can be found in any office supply store. Next, you will need to enter the contacts you want to print into Address Book.

Once your contacts are in Address Book, click the + button (plus button) in the Group pane to create a new group. We'll call ours "Card List."

To get your contacts into this group, simply drag and drop them from the All Contacts group. When you're done adding the contacts to this group, check to ensure you have everyone added for whom you wanted to print labels for.

To print the labels, first, select the group you created, then go to File > Print. A dialog will drop down. Click the downward facing arrow beside the dropdown box for the printer name to get all the options for printing in Address Book.
From the resulting options, click Mailing Labels from the Style drop-down menu., then click the Layout tab. Depending on the style of labels you have, you will need to select the appropriate manufacturer from the Page drop-down box, and the appropriate number from the secondary drop-down box. If the labels you have are not listed, you can specify a custom label by selecting the "Define Custom" option from the Page drop-down menu.
Next, click on the Label tab to set options like which address will get printed, which order to print in, the color, any image you may want to include on the label, and the font to be used.

When you're ready to print, simply click the Print button. You can also optionally save the settings as a preset from the Presets drop-down menu. This is helpful when printing labels for many different occasions. If you need to print multiple copies of the same labels, you can set that just as you would any printing job.
So, there you have it. An easy way to batch print labels using Address Book.
