iOS 5 now has a nifty new feature that lets even the most amateur of photo editors turn their mediocre shots into photographic masterpieces. You can now touch up your photos on-the-go, right from the Photos application, and shoot, edit, and share your photos with ease, all without the use of other apps. (Unless, of course, you want to turn your photos into hipster-ific vintage photos. iOS can't really help you with that.)
To begin editing your photos, launch the native Photos application in iOS 5, and tap on any of your photos.

After loading one of the photos, tap on the on the Edit button in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen. After tapping the Edit button, the editing toolbar will appear at the bottom of the screen. These tools lets you rotate the photo, auto-correct the photo, remove red eye, and crop the photo.

The Rotate button will rotate your photo 90-degrees clockwise each time you tap it, while the auto color correction button will have the same effect as the feature in iPhoto. To fix red eyes, tap the Red Eye Correction button and then on the eyeballs in the photo you'd like to fix.

The crop feature lets you zoom in and out on the crop area by using the pinch-to-zoom gesture that is common in iOS. If you tap on the Constrain button, you will be able to choose from the following sizes: Original, Square, 3x2, 3x5, 4x3, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, and 16x9.
